It's true tho, the fact that Thomas was allowed to join women's sport wasn't his fault because he followed the rules to be eligible. But just like Caitlyn [also] said, if Thomas had a sensible mind and considerate of others [women], he should have never even attempted to shift categories [from men's to women's sport] because he knew very well that he had that certain advantage. Caitlyn said it herself, for Thomas' case, it's all about the person's character and integrity.

Easy way to fix the problem is For the athletes to stand up and say they’re not gonna compete and just walk off the field. Enough athletes stand up for what’s right then you have no competition they’ll fix the problem at that point till then they will not.

the only way to be fair is to have a separate category for transgender women and another separate category for transgender men. People would watch it. The news and tv shows would have more to cover and could charge more for commercials during the events and everything would be fair. Mixing the trans genders in with the naturals is not fair at all, its like letting the boys compete against the girls and the girls trying to compete against the boys. It is ridiculous not to let the trans people have their own category for competitive sports.

From what I remember about the most recent documentary about you as an athlete vs. you and your gender identity, you said something like this-you always knew you were different, but you had to make a very deliberate choice on whether to fully invest in becoming the best male Olympic athlete, or do you invest on your own personal journey of self discovery. You made a choice to be the athlete, and that ultimately meant that you put off or sacrificed exploring your gender identity. I applaud you and have a tremendous amount of respect for you.

Absolutely selfishness. No different than a thief stealing from someone to make themselves happy. In the mean time the victim is now affected and goes without due to the offender. That’s not acceptable and neither should this be. Glad to see the Olympics made the right decision. One man’s happiness shouldn’t come at the expense of everyone else. If he’s confused, the rest of the world should not be obligated to acquiesce to make him feel better. He needs help to realize his true identity, and that’s not what he chose.

The U.S. national womens soccer team LOST in a scrimmage against an under 15 year old boys soccer club based in Texas in 2017. The final score was 5-2. The advantage even at that age shows the clear difference between men and women.

I mean, you're right. I just use whatever pronoun comes most easily to me though. I have no desire to deliberately use the pronoun that they don't want. Sometimes "they" seems most natural. That's the biggest point about the pronouns in my opinion, we can't force anybody to get the pronouns "right", meaning whatever the person wants. My 6 year old son listens in to these shows while he's playing and he likes to weigh in on the issues every once in awhile and he just called Lia Thomas "it" yesterday. Sounded appropriate, she/he doesn't look like a man or a woman.

I don't agree that it is not Thomas's fault! He could have given "his trophy" to Gaines as she tied with him. We all would have respected him more. And all the months after that win he was out there advocating and telling everyone that people like him should be accepted in women's sports!!! So, yes, Thomas should carry at least some blame.

She should've declined in my opinion but she prob didn't think too much about it (a mistake on her part). But I don't blame her for making that mistake - it was essentially a bait to be honest. And regardless of the past, I like the fact that she's trying to do what's right. So let's not blame her for trying to stand up for women...

you'll never see a trans man win a men's event and that tells you all you need to know that it's not fair. lia only seems to care about lia which is the biggest takeaway from this interview. the only way to make this fair is for trans to compete against other trans only, period. she will ALWAYS AND FOREVER have a physical advantage over biological women. even when you fully transition, you are still not technically a 'woman'. the biological women should all boycott all races she's in until this gets changed asap; they should have started boycotting a long time ago; it's absolutely absurd. i'm glad she's happy, but at what expense. she has a conscience and she knows it's not right at the end of the day..

I have so much respect for Caitlyn Jenner. She has the rare insight of having lived and performed as a male olympic athlete and is 100% honest and forthright about the fact that transgender women who have been through normal male puberty are always going to have the edge over biological women where sports are concerned. It's not about transphobia or being non-inclusive it's about biology and common sense. I don't know what the answer is.... probably an individual one based on many things, but Lia Thomas being able to swim amongst main stream elite women swimmers with her extra height, muscle mass, arm length, hand and foot size, increased lung capacity etc isn't it. I like they way they all spoke about it showing Lia's "bad character" by her being happy to win against the women after previously losing to other men. That's a pretty shitty attitude to have and I'm glad they had the guts to speak about it.

Caitlyn got an award to be on the cover of a magazine. no big deal. Thomas is kicking women off places on the podium, costing them not just awards but sponsorship and scholarships possible too.
