I was going to this big buzzing church in Edina MN for a while back around ‘06-‘07. They had some variety show kind of service I decided to play a classical piece at. Caitlyn sang after me with another girl, she was playing banjo. Her voice (who is that?! Haha!) ! We made a musical connection, and she even picked me up once to play for her worship band for an Easter service, on a cold MN morning in some old Ford. Haha. She’s very down to earth, laid back and always smiling/laughing. I admire how she followed her dream to Nashville, paid her dues for years in the shadows while she honed her skills and wrote hits for others. Her success couldn’t have come to a more deserving, dedicated darling of a singer. It’s fun to see people nationwide discovering this small town gal. I just searched her tonight because apparently she sang the national anthem at a recent Vikings game. They ask if she’s a fan. Of course!! :D
Just another example of why the Nashville spin machine sucks. REAL, HONEST, TO THE CORE, TALENT like this is rarely ever heard on the airwaves, instead we are fed a steady stream of little to no talent hacks that the spin machine wants to push out as new country. Give me more Caitlyn and call it a day...
