Some of us also like the sound of the big diesels fighting a long train up grade when I was in the United States Air Force I was stationed in Germany in 1982 to 1984 and all I remember where the trains were electric powered with overhead wire the freight trains were not very long and they were quiet they snuck up on you being a real fan I still would go out and watch trains like us rail fans do Oh and also yes our horns sound a hell of a lot better than European orange in my humble opinion
I have met people from Germany and Belgium and France in Cajon Pass and if you ever come up I would be more than happy to show you the place in my jeep I know that place pretty good
Personally I've always been fascinated with horns. I think train horns are cool because you get 3 to 5 separate horns all combined to make one sound. Makes for some cool tones.
@@remylopez4821 I haven't been on Sullivan's Curve for years, long before the track expansion. I came across a Trains Magazine that had a map of the area and I'm going to get up there before the end of the year. Is there anything I need to watch out for?
Bill Shaw Hey Bill I guess you know you can access Sullivan’s curve from Cajon Junction which is where Highway 66 in before it ends on the 15 just watch out for the loose gravel as you cross the creek but other than that just follow the trail I suggest later in the evening when the weather is cooler and the sun is setting the scenery is more spectacular just please be aware of snakes specially if you go to Hill 582 that is a must go to place as well
