I’m African American, I don’t like black icing because the taste is weird for me. However, I travelled to Vietnam and was shocked to discover the yellow cake icing is made with durian fruit juice! Our children’s education volunteer group ordered a local cake when someone in our group had a birthday, but none of us foreigners could eat the cake because the yellow frosting tasted weird to us. Our Vietnamese helpers nearby were happy to eat it, though!
I was totally wowed by the concept of an all black heart cake... it would have been PERFECT for those times when I just wanted to celebrate my birthday by myself 🎂🖤🎂
They look like the cakes from my childhood in the early 2000s, beautiful colors and shapes. Great job! The pink and orange cake reminds me of Totally Spies, wonderful!
I can watch cakes being iced all day. I just find it so relaxing. I think my favorite piping tip is the one you used with the light purple, the one with the most lines I guess you would say, don’t know the tip number. They were all very pretty and I’m sure delicious. Thank you for sharing your work 😊.
I love how vibrant the colors are! Even the black is Black! And it's very hard to get a very dark and vibrant color in buttercream and icing unless you're using Gel color and not liquid color. Watching this makes me reminisce about being in college for baking and pastry at Le Cordon Bleu back in the day.... I miss it.
I just started baking and decorating cakes because i used to decorate ice cream cake for years when i was 16. Im teaching myself, and it's not easy. 😢 So I'm mesmerized watching this.
