Calaguas Island is a hidden gem in the Philippines. It is a remote island chain located off the coast of Camarines Norte. Calaguas is known for its pristine white sand beaches, clear waters, and lush forests. It is a perfect getaway for nature lovers and those who are looking for an unspoiled paradise.
In this vlog, I will share my experience of visiting Calaguas Island. I will show you Mahabang Buhangin Beach, the most beautiful beach on the island, as well as some of the other things you can do there, such as island hopping, hiking, and swimming. I will also give you some tips on how to plan your own trip to Calaguas.

Tips on traveling to Calaguas Island:
- The best time to visit is from March to May, when the weather is dry and sunny.
- The island is not as developed as some other tourist destinations in the Philippines, so it is important to be self-sufficient. Bring your own food and water, and be prepared for basic accommodations.
- There are no ATMs on the island, so make sure to bring enough cash with you.
- The island is only accessible by boat, so you will need to book your transportation in advance.
- Limited WiFi on the island.
- Power is secured from 6am - 6pm, recommend you bring a portable fan.
- Bring plastic bag for your electronics, you will get wet on the boat ride
- Bring towels, it's 100PSP to rent a towel
So if you are looking for a beautiful and unspoiled destination in the Philippines, then Calaguas Island is the place for you.
How to get to Calaguas Island From Pasay:
- If you want to go to Calaguas Island from Manila by bus. There are buses going from Manila to Calaguas. From Cubao in Aurora Terminal in Manila to Paracale. It costs 550 PHP per person with air conditioning we did with Superlines. There are also companies like DLTB, Philtranco going to Paracale and Daet. The bus ride takes around 10 hours at night time depending on the traffic leaving Manilka. We took the bus at 5 pm from Manila in Cubao Aurora Terminal and we got to Paracale at 3 am.
Once in Paracale bus terminal to the port is only 1 kilometer distance. You can go walking since it’s so easy if you check in the map where is the port. During the day a tricycle a regular fare is 30 PHP and at night you can get around 50 PHP for the ride. Even they will ask for 100 PHP for one kilometer.
HOW TO GET TO PARACALE FROM DAET BY BUS
If you want to get to Paracale from Daet is one hour van ride for 60 PHP per person. Once in Daet if you want to go to Naga City. You have to ride a van or a bus prices are 100-150 PHP. The bus is cheaper than the bus but it takes 2 hours and a half. While the van can take 1 hour and a half to 2 hours with air condition.
Another option is going to Daet from Manila by bus. But if you are planning to go from Daet to Pasacale to ride the boat to Calaguas Island at night will be only possible only by tricycle around 300 PHP. The van costs 60 PHP and it takes less than an hour.
From Daet you can head to Vinzons by jeepney 1 hour and 75 PHP to the fishport. There are also boatmen that can ride you to Calaguas Island prices are similar or little bit mroe expensive than Paracale.

Wow love those cabanas on the beach at 5:50. Way better than a little tent. Lovely food at 10:39. PI mangos are the best. Pristine beaches, nice to take a evening dip out there.

9:32 clip/video I am planning to visit next month.. Is it only walking distance from the resort? Thanks.
@ejaysadventures
@ejaysadventures 3 месяца назад
Not far I would say a couple hundred yards. As you look towards the beach you would turn towards your right side and keep walking until you hit the rocky area. The key to having fun and enjoying Calaguas is negotiating your package from the boat ride, food, accommodations on island (tent, cabana, closed cabana, room with AC), island hopping and other activities. Which tour operator are you looking at? BTW electricity is turned off between 6am - 6pm.

Sir how long boatride? Anytime or they have schedule boat ride?
@ejaysadventures
@ejaysadventures 9 месяцев назад
Thank you Po for watching our video of Calaguas, we feel is one of the best in the Philippines... The boat ride is about 2+ hours depending upon the type of boat you use... the water can be a little rough at times depending upon the time of year and a lot of water spray on the way back :-) make sure have your belongs in plastic along with your personal items.. but I kind of liked it.. From my understanding the departure times change due to the tide because during low tide it's hard for the boats to get back to the dock that's up river.. I recommend using one of the two operators noted below both are good but we really liked Gayon Travels & Tours because he can take you to other places around the Philippines as well, plus he is the one on the tour helping to make the best experience possible. When negotiating prices please make sure that you express all of your concerns to include food, water ect.. If you use either one of them please let them know you reached out to Nick from Ejay's Adventures and ask for a special best friend discount (sometimes it works 😀).... I recommend going during the week days, not weekends, it's a less people, more quiet, more relaxing and peaceful. Also they sell wifi cards that you can use on the beach for about 80 pesos other than that no other WiFi access off the island. Power is secured from 6am to 6pm so bring extra power banks... We really love Calagus, we will go back again next year but stay 2 nights and do more island hopping and hiking... have fun.. Please check out our other videos from Albay, Camarines Norte and Baguio as well..... plus watch me learn how to plant rice... I suck at it but it was fun.. .also watch our son's Jollibee birthday party as well...
