My family and i did this journey for 30 years and more esp on townsend thoresen you didnt worry about going on a ferry back then until accident happened we loved our holiday to france on this trip last time was 1987 we loved our ferry crossing getting excited to be on holiday
It's not a schengen border though. The UK is outside of Schengen. I know that these days passport control is done on the side you embark the ship, but it wasn't always.
@@annagilda1 I know. I live in UK. They do check UK side both French and UK police so that you can just drive off once in France. But people not used to this often may assume passports are needed again the other side is my point.
