Calamari Inkantation - [Orchestral Cover] The 1st part is a remix of the traditional calamari county chorus, 2nd part rearranges the modern calamari inkantation. Enjoy.
Love this, and it seems especially fitting as a backing track for a present-day Captain Agent 3. It's a little less feverish than most iterations of the modern Inkantation, giving it a more solemn and thoughtful feel that matches a more experienced character; no longer a youth reveling in fighting for their nation's pride (as they were in Splatoon 1's campaign) but instead an adult with a broader perspective. The rythmic folk singing and Octarian motif both add to that feeling of calm unity from an Agent who after Octo Expansion has begun to understand the meaningless nature of the conflict between the two species.
A seasoned veteran who has seen the hell between Octo and Squid. They see how foolish it is... But a new force threatens both. Instead of singing orders and commands... They give one to themselves. "Get up soldier, and join the fight with your bretherin."
Imagine, you’re a series veteran who started all the way back on the original Wii U game, and you just unlocked a super secret boss fight. You enter the stage, and then, as you step forward, you are met with the Captain…The very Inkling you played as back in the original. He/she gets up, the traditional Calamari County chorus chanting in the background as they proceed to test your mettle. But then, after a bit, the music suddenly goes quiet. The Captain has recognized your strength, your tenacity…And resolves to bring all to bear so they might meet your challenge. You then see two other opponents appear alongside them: Your Inklings/Octolings from 2 and 3. The second half of this track starts up, and the screen suddenly changes to a rainbow of color, accompanied only by the music and the following boss subtitle: *Trio of Heroes*
@@immenseshoutmon Not even that…Like, only the captain at the start, and then the singular checkpoint preceding the real fight, which is against all 3 Agents at once
This almost feels like it tells a story in the way the tone shifts. Sorry for the wall of text, but you just gave me an inspiration. Something along the lines of another world ending scenario: Evaporation of colour. Ironic that a world that a world that drowned is facing a drought, but when said drought is a living being it becomes a little less far fetched. Walking a path of cleanliness, everything it touches is left stainless. The Octarians now have to face this threat head on. Ready to make it his last stand DJ Octavio does the only thing he knows may lead to a chance at defeating such a threat. He starts playing That Heavenly Melody. Behind him his army joins him in song as they rain down neon pink upon the encroaching unsullied devestation. At first they succeed. Chanting as one the Octarians march foreward, painting the land and encircling the Drought for an all out attack. Yet, when victory is within armes reach, their ink starts to run dry. Slow but surely all their turf dries up pushing them back, until the only sanctuary remaining is the immediate area around Octavio's octobot. Set into overrive, the octobot manages to keep a small area covered, but even Octavio's supplies start to run out. His song is about to end. As his ink output starts to fade Octavio hears a new note playing. It's That Heavenly Melody again! His speakers are silent, yet still he hears it getting louder. Suddely Octavio's world is drenched in yellow! Who would dare to backstab him at a time like this?! Wiping the splashed ink from his eyes he looks around, only to find an Inkling in front of him. It is his nemesis, the New Squidbeak Splatoon captain, and they are shielding him from the drought. All around ink raines from above, not one colour, or a few, but all colours known to the Octarians start to fill the battlefield. From ships up high inkling and oktoling descend to join the fight. They abandoned their precious turf wars to be here. They came to fight along side the Octarian army, and to save the world together. (song playing: Calamari Inkantation Monsoon mix "Octarian Empire featuring Inkopolis")
Please let this come true in Splatoon 4, because not only would this be a beautiful story concept, I want the world to flood back to this amazing idea when it predicts the future.
Lemme add my own thing onto this- All the idols from all three games start joining in on the song, building up a sound wave so strong, that, as a final push, takes down the entity for good (and yes, it’s all fed into Pearl cuz that’s her thing, and we must let our forehead Queen shine as she always does ❤)
0:00 The old vision: Celebrating the fortunate victory against the Octarian Menace, paving the way for a Squid-dominant world and destroying the hopes of the enemy 3:40 The new vision: Defend the life we've created, and pave the way for a world where everyone can live. Yes DJ Octavio, even you. Squid, Octopus, Salmon, Stingray, we are the Inklings!
Imagine if this were the scene where the Octolings quickly evacuate their crumbling civilisation following the defeat of their Shogun… or maybe a joint revolution to get behind Agent 3 during the climactic battle. Maybe even the end credits scene? Who can say.
Movie tracks are often split across different scenes. I imagine the first part being a scene where Octavio is recalling the end of the Great Turf War, his home being destroyed and his people being forced underground The second part is when Octavio comes full circle. They play the Calamari Inkantation and Octavio is reluctant to go with it since it made his people abandon him, but in some way the heroes make it a point that he won't be abandoned again, and that gets him to finally put all his trust in the Inklings and become an integral part in saving the world
the blend between electronic and orchestral elements in the second half is really sick, thanks for making cool Splatoon covers when there aren't very many out there
I have been following the series since 2016, this is one of the best remixes of Calamari Inkantation I had ever heard after 8 years and really reminds me of the early days of Splatoon. Love it so much.
My boss asked me why I was smiling so hard at the office while listening to music. This piece should take you into collabs with the big remixer names and grow your fanbase. Great work, please keep it up, you've shown you've got creativity to spare!
I completely forgot to ask, how are you making this? What programs you prefer and where did you find your sources and samples? Absolutely beautiful stuff.
I use Studio One 3 and the orchestral instruments come from libraries like Symphony essentials, metropolis ark, labs, Hollywood choirs, then i use vital for creating synths
holy shit this is amazing 😭😭😭😭 AND it uses 2 of my favorite versions of the calamari inkantation?!?!?!?!?!?!?! AAAAAA keep up the good work this better blow up or something
Considering the rumors about the FinalFest from Splatoon 3 being a literal apocalypse, I would love to hear something like this as the 7 idols sing for us to save the world from a Salmonid attack.
Absolutely phenomenal! It’s the folks like you who focus on the quality and little details that give me inspiration. Absolutely earned a sub. Can’t wait to see how you grow!
This is just... amazing. Would there be a way I could contact you for business inquiries at all? (etc. Discord, Twitter or by email) I'm honestly intrigued and seriously considering using these arrangements or even making you one of the main composers of my film. (Also for anyone else who reads this, all I can say is that something big is planned for next year. Not exactly a Splatoon "Movie" but something in between those lines 😎)
between this and the spectrum obligato cover, i have to instantly subscribe. hope you get more recognition and hope to see more covers in the future! 🙏
the artwork here gives me the feeling like either the salmonids are taking over, or there's another global turf war... and only the captain, the one with the most experience can deal with the situation
If you were to continue these arrangements, could I suggest “Till Depth Do Us Part”by Deep Cut in the future? I think it has sort of fast-paced feel to it, and would love if you could add some of that same “final battle” energy into it as you did here (like suspense, action, soft sections, then strong again...) I’d really like to use an orchestrated version of that song in a stressful battle between the main character, Agent 3 and [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS]. I’m also curious what libraries you used, but it still sounds great. (Yes ik this is my 3RD comment on the same video and sorry if I sound demanding at all ;-; It’s just damn crazy how much I liked it) Ok byeee くコ:彡
GODDDD i think this has changed my brainwaves i am in looooove with thus oh my lord..... also people saying its perfect for captain 3... YES IT IS!!!!!
If you ever consider stepping up to the middle ground where you do stuff for Indie creators, I still need someone for the music for my Mario Parody youtuber fangame (basicly all remixes). (it's not easy to get tears into my eyes because of my autism. booya.)
