Super simple and easy to follow! Just paid for a course that tried to explain this in an hour and I was super confused. I was able to understand it in under 10 mins with this. Thank you for the great content :)

THANK YOU! The Step by step explaination and the checking of data by dates helped me to identify the underlying issues in my raw data. I was stuck in this calculation for awhile and all the suggestions I found didn't work on my model. Ready to move on to my next calculation now! :)

Thank you Sam, learning a great deal. I am in the process of building a financial model in MS Power BI. Budget versus actuals - once that is done then predictive analysis will come.

Ent DNA content has helped me so much as I am “self-taught” on Power BI. I’d like to see more stuff with DAX and non-standard calendars. That’s hard to find

Sam, I am using the Date calendar code from your resource lab, and does not have the Date Hierarchy drop-down option as your example. Also, do not have the MonthinCalendar in the Date menu like you are showing. Is there another or updated Date Code we should use?

What if you want to only have the matrix/table show Year, Sales and Last Years Sales? I tried this and the DAX only works when you have the transactional date showing. I only want to show in a matrix the Year , Sales and Last Year Sales.
@EnterpriseDNA
@EnterpriseDNA Год назад
Hello Chicago Bass Player, We're not sure about what you mean by "DAX only works when you have the transactional date showing". We replicated the scenario what you've mentioned in the matrix visualization using the same set of measures by replacing the dates with the years and we were able to see the results as expected. Please check the context of your measures/calculations that're implementing in your business case/scenario. For further queries, you can also reach out to us on our Community Forum by providing a detailed description of your query along with relevant files for reference. Our members and team of Experts will be happy to help out! If you haven't yet, do subscribe to our RU-vid channel and LinkedIn group to keep posted on Power BI, Power Platform, and the Microsoft stack updates. Hoping you find this useful! Hello, first of all i want to tell you i love you and you are my savior. I tried to solve it in the Data table and listened to chat gpd to create a new column with the CALCULATE SUM PREVIOUS YEAR expression but it only gave me an empty column so i gave up. Thanks to you i can show the change diffence. And i created a new measure with percentage change. But the problem is it can only show the percentage with the measures and it doesnt take the columns. Is there a way to solve it in the data table instea of measures? Thank you for everything

Hi @jacobsebastian6714, It's a bit difficult to assess and recommend without looking at the data structure, model and working of the PBIX file for reference. Yes, but it does not deal with non like for like periods, so 3 years 1 = Feb - Dec, 2 = Jan - Dec, 3 = Jan = May, so so year 3 has to ignore previous form June and year 2 has to ignore current sales for Jan.

How do you gather the data in excel to arrive to this please ?
@filipalm7585
@filipalm7585 8 месяцев назад
You need one column for each value you want to play around with, for example date, unit, country, sales eg. Each row needs to have data in each and every column.
