FightHype’s Ron Goodall recently caught up with former world champion Caleb Plant, who had a lot to say about several topics. You don’t want to miss what went down. Check it out!
This was a great interview. Caleb was finally acting like he wasn't being questioned about a murder that happened 2 hours ago. Cant wait for him to get back in the ring.
@@domingoarroyo2179 Thanks…maybe the truth hurts. Or, maybe you’re a relative of Berlanga…dunno. Real fight fans don’t have much interest in Berlanga. Of all the fights to be made out there, you want to see that guy??? Have fun with that.
@@richardcollins2622 will you say that to Berlanga's face ? No😂 You're hating on a warrior who's been fighting since he was 6 years old. And now you're talking about truth? HATER, Plant mentioned the fight and I honestly would love to see that fight cause it would be a great step up for Berlanga but you haters just focus on hating so you wouldn't know anything about that
Weight is only a factor on the last week of cutting. Don’t matter what u come in the night of the fight. Rehydration only benefits the fighter if he had a healthy weight cut
No excuses. Devin accepted the extra weight for money. The only reason people are talking about it is because Devin lost. No one talked about how Jermall Charlo was 3 1/2 pounds over weight when he beat Jose Benavidez. Devin got the hell beat out of him and that's it.
It's cheating bro, try to spin it anyway you want. Purposely weighing in overweight for an advantage over your opponent is cheating. Doesn't matter who did it, doesn't matter who won, it's cheating.
Agreed. I was a Devin Haney fan until that Bill Haney-Floyd Mayweather video came out. Ryan has Devin figured out because he doesn't worry about Devin's power (or lack of). If a rematch does happen, I'm hoping for a KO. Bill Haney sucks!
@@jerseyboyantbrooks2824check the actual punch stats...he still lost. No way he won every rd besides the knockdowns. What fight were you watching? Stop it.
The ref was bad both ways niggas never talk about how Ryan was turning his back the whole fight but the ref didn’t do nothing and said don’t hit him in the back
Got to respect Caleb Plant. Endured the first loss of his career in a tough fight with Canelo, then came back strong with a devastating knock out of Anthony Dirrell, before taking on David Benavidez and losing a 12 round decision, in which he survive some brutal punishment in the second half of the fight. Plant takes his craft seriously and always shows up in supreme shape, ready to fight. Props to Caleb
The weight absolutely plays a role. If you’re talking about two guys at their natural weight having a three pound difference that’s one thing. It’s totally different when one fighter is grinding to get those last three pounds off while the other fighter is chilling in the back not even giving the other team a heads up that he’s not even close to weight. On top of that he gets to bet on himself to win so forfeiting a percentage of his purse is nothing.
@@danielquaisie2420 Okay so he didn't got stopped but he got beat down both times he stepped up. He's a good little fighter but not great, those are facts
As I've always said, Haney, Plant ,Clarissa are all the same. They have all the same power which is none. what happened to Haney is exactly what happened to Plant when he fought Benavides No power both got brutally annihilated by their opponent !!!!
Leave it to Caleb Plant to talk sense like he always does. All this slamming Devin and his dad and criticizing Ryan is malarkey. They fought a great fight, give Ryan his flowers but everyone needs to stop dumping on Devin. He was beaten by a better fighter on the day of the fight. Kudos to my man Plant.
The weight was not an issue. It was confirmed that both Ryan and Haney both weighed the same on the night of the fight. Fighters miss weight. Nobody trains harder than Floyd Mayweather and even he missed weight by 2 lbs against Juan Marquez. It happens. No excuses! Ryan won fair and square and deserves his flowers. Point blank period!
See this is how I know you don’t know shit about boxing lol it’s not about rehydration it’s the fact that he didn’t cut those last 3.2 pounds. You don’t even know what it takes to lose just one pound Devin made sure that he made weight which means he gonna feel it more Ryan hasn’t made weight at 140 yet which means he’s definitely a weight bully
Why aren't PBC trying to make Plant vs Charlo? That's a fight that makes a lot of sense and would do some good numbers. Give the fans a fight they would actually want to see.
Caleb is a good fighter for his time does not fight like what people would expect and that makes him special. Reminder that Duran fought at his best at 135 and moved up to 147 to beat down the best fighter at that time at 147 Sugar Ray leonard. That type of stuff is not common. Roy Jones fought Ruiz at Heavyweight is similar to the attempt. Boxing never promises an undefeated career, Boxing does hold the promise that every punch you take slowly takes the starch out of you.
no we don't to see it again,Haney had zero interest in giving Loma a rematch and it was a close fight, for that reason I hope Ryan never gives him a rematch
@@Devinhaneysucks I’m a Ryan fan and called that he could do what he did before the fight dipshit. My question still stands. Do you understand how boxing is scored? I don’t like Devin but he won some rounds for sure.
Mayweather is a mastermind. He orchestrated Garcia beating Haney. Mayweather wants his legacy protected and took out Haney when he started saying they are the new Mayweather etc. Genius
What you're saying is, "Devin was winning when he didn't get his ass kicked and the ref saved him from a ko." "Devin did great except when he was dropped 7 times and the ref only ruled 3 knockdowns." Genius analysis by the interviewer. 👍
