The best team ever fielded, full of perfect players can have the QB go down with injury at ANYTIME and derail the entire plan. (I know, that never happens. How silly.) Manifesting the future on SM does nothing to make the team do better. It ONLY makes fans feel better. Temporarily. (Look at the JF fiasco! He was the heir apparent on SM. And he gone.) Fans have every right to gather and fantasize about da bears. Nothing wrong with it. No real expertise required either. I've been a Bears fan all my life. I want to see the Bears succeed. CW has not taken one snap in a NFL game. I think we should wait before we declare him the best QB to ever play for the Bears. I hope he is. It's been fun watching the rebuild. Part of what's made it so enjoyable is this channel and being able to share the experience with other fans. No one is immediately anything. Because of the difficulty of comparing players and teams of different eras, it's better to compare the way players and teams dominate their respective eras. If Caleb dominates his era more than Sid Luckman dominated his era, Swift's claim can be justified. Until then, nope.

He has not thrown pass #1 in the league, so settle down, he will need too string together several top five QB years. Kramer and Jimmy Mac had one or two of those in their times here, yes the 84 and 85 teams were more than Payton and that defense. They were run first, but before all the injuries Jimmy Mac was a top 5 QB, and for one year atleast Kramer was. I remember when Fields was the guy and Cutler too for that matter.

We have had multiple QB’s in the 50 years that have been very good in short stretches (1 or 2 years, individual games do not count). For William to claim to be the best ever Bears QB, he will have to prove on the field. He better be that on his rookie deal, or we wasted that #1 overall pick.

I agree about Caleb and Rome's talent at their position. The Bears have never had any luck (or skill) at drafting a QB or a WR. But they have drafted great players at other positions. Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, Walter Peyton, Richard Dent, Brian Urlacher etc. He may be the best QB we have ever drafted, but not necessarily the best overall player. There will need to be a lot of football played before then. I am a lifelong fan and hope he is.

Draft History over time means nothing. Drafting was done by different people at different times. Bears missed Terry Bradshaw 1970 because of a coin toss for first pick.

Fields had the best QBR in football to DJ (only high quality WR and top 3 QBR to TEs in Kmet. Give him this team and he’d certainly have success. That said, Caleb’s ambition and more outgoing personality is what will bring long term success

Doug Flutie was not allowed by Ditka to play his game. Ditka insisted he had to be a pocket passer. Jay Cutler had to play his first two seasons without a legitimate No. 1 WR until Marshall came via a trade. Needless to say all Bears quarterbacks had to play behind terrible offensive lines. Trubinski never had a chance playing for inept coaches. Chicago sports writers are a joke whose mission through the years is to destroy players whose misfortune is to play for inept and mismanaged Chicago teams.

I believe that CW has the talent and team talent to succeed. The Question in my mind is how well will CW withstand getting hit on blitzes and double teams and running left and opening up his body to throw back across the grain right. CW is not a big guy at 215lbs and is he going to be able to take NFL pounding for 17 games + ? Will he get rid of the ball fast enough and not let his competitive nature keep the ball to long, trying to make a play that isn't there.? I defenently think he has the ability, but does he have NFL stamina.?

While I certainly want Caleb to be everything described and more, the video goes a lot further than I ever would at this point. Nothing wrong with getting caught up in the hype though as that generates excitement in and of itself. I will say that there are negative sides to it as people did this with Justin and honestly as far as throwing the ball, he just failed to earn the hype but that didn't stop people from getting overly attached. I need to see it consistently on the field and until then, just like this video, it's all talk.

Until he puts up the numbers to beat out all the other quarterbacks that the Bears have had, literally as of right now he isn't even as good as Kyle Orton because he hasn't played a single down yet. Let this kid play first and be himself and then you can focus on his numbers. He has the potential to be the best quarterback in Bears history but until he puts those numbers together, year after year after year, he only has the potential. Bears fans all hope that he meets and exceeds the expectations of his potential.

Totally Wrong. Guy has not thrown a NFL game pass Sid Luckman is one of the greatest NFL Quarterbacks ever and invented the modern passing game. Season Stats are distorted by length of season differences which must be adjusted for Individual Football stats are largely bogus unlike baseball because the stats depend on 10 teammates on every play. Also no idea how durable he is. NFL is bigger harder faster than college. Let's see how durable is. The hype on him is absurd and he feeds it which makes him unlikeable as opposed to Justin Fields No one knows how he will perform All just opinions.

It's a silly statement. It shows your age. He PROBABLY will be the best. But he hasn't played a single down. And throwing for 4000 yards means what, exactly? Jim McMahon was unbeaten in four straight calendar years from 1984-1987. He went 25-0 . Still an NFL record, and one that will never be broken ( unless Caleb can). Jim also retired with two rings. Respect should be shown.
