The long yawn tells it all. Lots of driving. I love markets, there’s always the new stuff. OMG 😱 a pet bakery. Mmmmm simply delicious from bread, cakes, fish, meat fruit, veggies, nuts and herbs wow. Such good presentation of the food. Ooh Daddy is going to go crazy when he sees those doughnuts. Reminds me of the bakery video the two of you shared with us in Ireland, such delicious cakes. Ooh that choice of cheese bagel, simply looked so mouth watering. Cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing oooh yummy. Fluffy and moist sounds so good. Have one each why share and wish for the last bite😂😂. Nice comment there from a pass by. Ooh that carrot cake what do I say, “ little crunch, everything just melts in your mouth” says Sarah and David😂. Thank you for sharing loved it.👋
Wow, those pastries and cake looked amazing. I always enjoy Carrot Cake so was glad that it was so delicious. I wonder how they get the seeds to stay on the side of the cake without sticking to frosting? It would be great if Calgary Farmers Market would donate to your channel for all of the great publicity.
Yeah not sure how they get the seeds on the carrot cake 🤔 The pastries were so soft and delicious. Thanks for the lovely comment and for watching the video Ben 😊
Oh that's the new Farmers Market. It only opened Summer 2022 I think. I've only been the one in the south but they have similar places. I loved Margarita's Dishes. Her Schnitzel is to die for. Also Anatolia is a restaurant downtown and they have one at the South Farmers Market as well so had you been at the other Market you could have tried them.
We have driven past here so many times!! It’s always one of those places we are like “we should go in there” but haven’t!! Was great to experience it through you guys instead haha 😍
If you ever happen to be driving past again it's well worth the stopover just for that carrot cake! 🤤 We have since been back ESPECIALLY for a piece of carrot cake. lol
Montreal vs New York style bagels is a longtime discussion. Mtl bagels are usually smaller, denser, crisper and sweeter than NY bagels which are softer, chewier and more doughy. While both are boiled in water before baking, but for Mtl bagels honey and sugar is added to the water. The best bagels are those baked in a wood-fired oven from small bakeries and neither Mtl nor NYC bagels bear any resemblance to grocery store bagels which are often more like small bread rings with bagel seasoning. There's a chain in Ontario called Kettlemans and my 2 favourite bagel sandwiches are their Cubano (pork, ham, swiss, pickles and mustard) and the Reuben (Montreal smoked meat, kraut, swiss, honey mustard on a pumpernickel bagel.
That's so interesting. We'd like to try a NYC bagel one day. The Cubano and Reuben bagel sandwiches definitely sounds like something we would love to eat. Thanks so much for watching Bob!
The best Bagels I ever had living in Montreal had maple sugar in the curing water rather than honey or sugar...Give me kosher rye bread with my smoked meat...!!!
