As a Constable for 17 years, I’m appalled and quite frankly frightened by the current state of Policing going on in Ottawa. Working as a cop in Ontario for nearly 2/3 of a career, I had many opportunities to be scared. When our “Liberal” government (whatever that means now) turns to draconian autocracy, that’s real fear for me. I hope more Officers speak out. The sad reality for those Officers willing to speak up in the face of tyranny and radical law breaking orders is that they will likely face reprimand or possibly Police Act/criminal charges laid against them. My support goes to anyone caught up in the federal government’s totalitarian poison! But if we unite as free Canadians, our coward of a leader will not succeed in breaking our spirit! “God keep our land glorious and FREE” don’t forget those words. We’ve all sang them thousands of times. It’s the very glue that holds Canada together

I applaud this man for his standing with his honor intact. I hope he is ready for the backlash - so many here in the US have paid for it with losing their jobs. But a job can be replaced, all a man has is his honor, and that no one can take, it has to be surrendered. Stay strong, sir!

A real police officer

Thank you sir for all you have done as an RCMP member & as a Calgary Police member & for honouring your conscience & your heart. I am not kidding when I say that I truly pray that you run for office. This world needs people like you to be in these positions of elected power to represent the people & honour their rights & freedoms. I know many people like yourself & some of them are in Ottawa & others are in other cities peacefully & legally protesting this horrific government. They control the media so they have many Canadians in a state of fear believing almost anything they broadcast. Today you have strengthened my resolve & my faith in humanity. How can the cops in sub zero weather STEAL a Truckers fuel, leaving him (and in some cases his whole family)stranded and freezing to death, then arrest anyone who even tries to help and that not be attempted MURDER?

Finally...A man’s man! Everyone is proud of you. My entire family was in Law Enforcement at the local level such as Nick. My father retired after 28 years with his last 17 as a detective. My uncle assumed my father’s position upon retirement and finally retired after 27 years. And my brother was a sheriffs deputy for 12 years. They would have all been just as conflicted as this officer.

Bravo sir! With respect and gratitude. I admire and believe in the police so this has been very hard for me to be on the opposite side from them during this peaceful protest in Canada. I am a US citizen and I have stood by the police here these past years as activists, anarchists and progressive socialist have tried to decimate and sometimes out right replace the police in cities across America. This has resulted in a huge spike in all crimes across the country. Lies about racial killings by the police have been disgusting and created in an attempt to tear our country apart. And for activist like BLM to gain power and money by taking the truth and flipping it on it’s head. So I stand very strong with my countries police against what these groups are trying to do to them. Just as in Canada the mainstream media here fully supported by the corrupt liberal federal government spreads lies about violent BLM riots-truth, being peaceful protests-lies, in a strange mirroring was the Canadian legacy media is doing there by calling peaceful protest-truth, violent-lies. Unfortunately the police in Australia are standing on the wrong side of history. I don’t want to be on the opposite side of them but they & the politicians there are wrong! In Canada not all the police are complying with the corrupt dictatorial politicians, but most are. What I held sacred, now feels hollow and without substance. I'm a music teacher. From the time that I was a young student, I knew I wanted to share my love for the craft. I wanted to enrich the lives of children. Hey, I was no straight-A student, no saint, but the discipline, community, and understanding that I gained from playing in ensembles has kept me on the right path, all this time. My faith in the institution of "education" is a husk of what it used to be. I'm forever changed.

Thanks Officer Nick Motyka for speaking truth to power. I salute you for your bravery in making this video and uploading it to RU-vid for broad viewership. We need many more level-headed law enforcement officers, like you, to realize that their true role is to maintain law and order within the parameters of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of Canada. The police need to uphold the rule of law, lest our society descend into chaos. When the officers in Ottawa took the gasoline from protesters, they were committing theft, which is contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The police believed that they were acting under emergency powers once the Mayor of Ottawa declared a "state of emergency": did the mayor even have the authority to make such a declaration in those peaceful circumstances? Did that declaration authorize stealing gas, food and supplies from peaceful protesters? Did that declaration enable the police to create a police state? My contention is No to each of these questions. It was not a true emergency. There was no "insurrection". I think that the police need to be careful not to blindly follow orders that are morally and ethically questionable. Moreover, the world is watching. Do the police want to go down in history as paid goons for tyrannical politicians, who have lost their way? Do they want to follow "Liberals", who are liberals in name only? Or, do they stand for truth and honesty, integrity, freedom, liberty -- which are the cornerstone principles on which this country was built? I say it is high time that the police stand together in solidarity with the people of Canada, who earnestly want their freedom and liberty back. I believe that there are many officers who agree wholeheartedly with you, Mr. Motyka, but are afraid to stand up for what is right. I also suspect that many officers took the jab in order to keep their jobs, notwithstanding the fact that their own conscience told them deep down that that was the wrong thing to do from the perspective of their own health and welfare. Such officers forgot that the law of informed consent gives them sovereignty over their respective bodily integrity. I wish you the best, Mr. Motyka.

I really respect what this officer is saying and I hope some of his fellow officers in Ottawa and other places hear this and think long and hard about it. Because I wonder how much longer these protesters will remain peaceful with the police and the politicians just wanting to squash them and not listen. When peaceful hard working law abiding citizens with what they feel are critical concerns are ignored, demonized and belittled by their government, they will inevitably turn to righteous anger and that is the most powerful motivator of all. The public servants in cities where this protest is happening need to understand what kind of bees nest they are kicking right now by doing the bidding of these elitists politicians. I am not in favor of violence and I certainly don't condone it here but I can see how this can easily turn into a bad situation if these people desperate to get their freedoms and lives back continue to be pushed further into a corner by seemingly uncaring authorities that just want them gone.
