There are many, many vids on the tube about earlier and much earlier grandstand shows that were incredible. Also, some full footage of the fireworks from Scotsman Hill for many of the years (the 2020 and 2021 COVID was still around versions stand out - one with a GoPro).

This is really sad (not a comment on the creator - just the show itself). The show was much better decades ago with big name headliners and the Young Canadians that were on fire back then. The fireworks need to be viewed from Scotsman Hill, like my master used to do. His family would have to park at the bottom of the hill most times on 8 Street in Ramsey and walk up. Once in a blue moon, they got a parking spot right on the top of the hill, right on Salisbury Street. If people had binoculars, they could watch the chucks before the grandstand show.
100% agree.. the one they did with Paul Brant a long time ago was amazing. They had aboriginal dancers standing on platforms dancing and Paul Brant came in from the sky behind the crowd. The last one I went to was called “Barn Burner” and it was terrible! Haven’t seen a show since!
completely disagree...it was upbeat and the talent was rock solid...drones...robots...acrobatics...musicians...daredevils...singing ...dancing ...fireworks...what the hell do you want????
Think they’re running out of ideas. Been to a grandstand show every year and, unfortunately, this year’s show is the worst sorry to say but am really disappointed. Hope they hire somebody with fresh bold ideas that will entertain the paying public which I think has been short-changed this year.
