I think they said that the tone is more akin to the large Cali compressor, and that it has a smaller footprint???? p.s. Also there should be more headroom for the new model.
Aside from that. They're basically the same compressor. Choose the model that has the features you desire, both work great on all sorts of instruments.
Is there any difference in the EQ/threshold/ratio of the bass model vs the standard? If I prefer the simplicity of the attack/release being on one knob and play in tunings lower than standard, would I be making a mistake trying to use the bass version on guitar? Seems like I’d be gaining the HPF and not really losing anything.
