Running Harrow's helminth on his first solved a lot of issues for me personally. Some decent range, strength and duration in the build and he's pretty fun even if you never use his 1st, subsume or not. Great video!
I did the same. You just need something to kickstart his lads' shield regen. With at least 200% strength you get two wide-range full strip AoEs similar to Xaku (who is good!). Sure his 2 doesn't work on everything and it's slow, but damage vulnerability is powerful. The reason he's worse than other frames is that other frames just... Do more. Frost has better CC and crit buffs and overguard, for example.
@@Glamador Caliban's stomp is pretty fun too. I put it on Rev for them thematic feel, and it brings a lot to the table to a kit that lacks a damage buff and potent CC. Roar would be overall better, but it's far less cool.
I use my Caliban with Breach Surge in place of his 1. I tried Condemn on him, but with a bit of range and atleast one augur mod, Breach Surge is much better option than Condemn. It CCs enemies and allows the conculysts to clear rooms once you armor strip eith his 4. Also tried Warcry on him, but seems it doesnt affect his Conculysts.
Started using Wrathful Advance over his 1st, and there's nothing more satisfying than one-shoting everything with the war. If it doesn't die in one-shot, adding Sentient Wrath for extra damage should. If still not dead, use the armor and shield deleting lasers. Use the basmu for thematic choice and healing, and between his passive, regen mods, taxon (of all the sentinels) and his sentients his shields rarely breaks, and never stays broken. For a non melee focused build I run Eclipse, with the new update to the ability it's easier to use, and it's 75% damage reduction also stacks on top of shields 50% DR and Caliban's built in budget Adaptation. Use the Augment for Eclipse to share your DR with the squad and become the ultimate version of Adaptation. Bonus if you can get a Citrine on the squad for an additional 75% DR.

So, I had a realization like this with Protea. I've lived so long on my Equinox that I forgot how other frames worked; Protea is a breathe of fresh air and I've been using her non stop with heavy ability usage. Saving this video for when Caliban primes. I already fed him to the plant, so i'm not farming him again until then. Great video, mr. Guap.
Okey...the community needs a static bar of "yea preatty good" cos i know a fair few people who use just steel path enemies as the bar for good frames. While the endurance runers use level cap viability while others use build veriety around abilites as the minimum for the good frame bar

Caliban was a warframe that caught my eye mainly because his abilities looked cool, (mainly his 4th) just never ended up getting him because of the grind and that Qorvex filled that spot for me because i find his abilities so fun while still dishing it out. Late comment, but I had a few questions: 1. How good are the Sentient clones in terms of pulling aggro from Caliban? Obviously I don’t expect something as strong as Loki’s Decoy, but is it at least enough to keep most enemies off of him? And if not, would it be advised to bring a Hound with a disarm setup and radiation to help with CC? 2. I heard some people saying that Harrow’s subsume is a good option on him, is this true? 3. How tanky are the Sentient clones? Did they die often at high survival levels? Been thinking of taking Caliban to Void Cascade Awesome video, and even more awesome fashion!
Sentients pull aggro decently well usually. And very tanky, since they have the same damage gate mechanics as enemy sentients I've not seen them die before their timer runs out at all even on SP survival. About the hounds, you can use Contagious bond + Manifold bond and a hound weapon with heat and rad for status primer(I use the electric ball prospectus). Enemies everywhere are either going to be on fire or attacking other enemies. The heat procs stack so your hound can room clear SP enemies too with status spread from contagious bond As for subsumes, Harrow's or Wisp's are the best options, apart from Nourish, but that is good no matter what frame you put it on. Condemn from harrow will help you get your shields back up for the shield regen from gis summons to apply if you don't use any augur mods and Wisp's breach surge is good cc and aoe damage. Nourish causes the summons to become aoe stunners. Attacks on them cause the viral explosion which staggers enemies in radius and causes viral procs
I run my Caliban with the Grimoire to keep my energy up and the Basmu for damage. No melee weapon. Swapped out his 1 for Vauban’s Squad to compliment The Crew™️. Modded him with high efficiency, plus augur mods and Brief Respite to regen shields through casting on top of lethal progeny. Lots of spam casting, lots of shields, plus his adaptation passive. It’s super fun to run around with all these summons, casting spells from a book like a Sentient wizard.
Was my first prime as a new player, thx to a giveaway thing back then, and boy! Was she good back then. Still one of the tankiest frames out there and she has some neat tricks with the true damage of Enery Vampire.
You know why your opinion is so much more valuable to me than other content creators? Because youre actually playing the game. Youre using the frame, youre testing and building which cant be said for the countless tier list generators that also make warframe content. I
Finally, ppl are understanding how good Caliban is, my caliban has 7 forma and i replaced his 1 with roar, now bro has dmg buff, dmg vul, armor strip, shield regen and natural adaptation. Literally only very few frames in the game can do that
Best armor/shield stripping available even surpassing The Lost Gaze. Decent decoys contributing toward best shield recharge in game. Great tactical except with obvious downsides. Technically no passive. No augements. Yet. Unfortunately mandatory Casting Speed stat required. Icky fashion but can be good when primed. Also, never played this frame
Yeah he's alright at his job, but in the day and age where we have nearly 60 frames, you gotta REALLY stand out to have any kind of normal playrate. Not saying that's good or bad, just how it is.
I love caliban, haven't used him in a bit cause I ended up putting all my tauforged shards on wukong but hes the only non prime warframe I made a steel path build for. I replaced his 1 with breach surge, it combos really well with his stomp
In my opinion, Caliban isnt the best frame out there, but they are definitely fun to play, and the dumb stuff you can pull off makes them enjoyable, in a similar light, it's why I like Zephyr as well.
I didn't farm him yet but glad to know i'll be able to tackle engaging shield gate (never played shield gate in my life i go more for invisibility or health tanking) And to go on your side i'de say their is no bad frames just frames that are easier to play
I like using big range and airburst and pulling enemies into my armor strip zone. He is also pretty good in disruption as the demos cannot get rid of your armor strip, they can't get back their armor like they could with Seeking Shuriken for example.
I think he just needs rework to his 1 and some ability QOLs and he'll be an insanely good frame that is still. Like his passive should stack with adaptation, his 3's shield regen should be constant instead of only triggering with existent shields. Both his 3 and 4 need a small energy cost reduction as his three costs a combined 150 energy for all 3 drones which is absurd and his 4 costing 100 energy and being limited to a small fixed area makes run and gun not very viable. Also maybe change his 2 to give a different cc effect? Lifted is not the best since it makes enemies float everywhere and also makes headshots impossible which in this incarnon prominent meta makes lifted not very desirable. I personally quite like the idea to for it to give the enemies the void status which I think makes for great survivability as well as preserving the ability to give a CO status. Caliban is definitely not the worst frame even is his current state tho, that title belongs to Valkyr(my personal opinion you can disagree, her 1 and 3 are redundant due to bullet jump/void sling and 4's immortality respectively, her 2 can be subsumed and her 4 has good stats but stance is shit and immortality is achieved by Revenant already so she literally has nothing going for her).

I think part of the reason Caliban is fun to play is because he's not a broken OP mess like other frames, and you have to be engaged and use all of his kit to take advantage of the guy. I'm not gonna get another caliban however, fuck that haha, farming his mats was a pain the ass, I'll wait for the day he gets a prime Also, subbed, your warframe vids are super cool, showcasing less used frames. I tried your limbo build and it was super fun.
Video request! Considering how you are trying out underrated frames and weapons, please try the Soma Prime incarnon. It’s an underrated machine gun shotgun that I’ve been having a really fun time playing, especially with Hata Satya on it. I know, I know, burston incarnon does a better job at being soma than soma itself blah blah blah I don’t care, it’s a fun weapon.
I don't know if there is a worst frame now because I like playing with caliban and now he can be much better. I like fun frames and mostly if they spawn other allies in (like nekros).
Just starting to watch the video but the only thing caliban needs is the first hability to deal more damage or be adaptative like revenant lasers, alongside with maybe a invulnerability to let recharge delay pass and have an oportunity to heal with the function of the hability. And make the 3 sentients of the third hability spawn at the same thime and give the full beneffit of the hability or at least cost less energy on succesive casts like atlas punches I had to subssume revenants hability on him because the first hability does not even let you heal or gives you time to regen shields after they brake, and revenants hability does all of that and resets shield recharge delay
@@teronthec2995 well yes but not so much because you still have to wait the full shield recharge deelay, but if you use revenant or harrow helminth you can completely skip all that and get shields right away and receive the shield regen from your summoned scentients

The fact that he is floating when standing still and NOT floating when he runs is a deal breaker for me. But thats obviously on DE, probably prime version will be always floating. Which is kinda stupid logic.
I think he is bad cuz like his 3 is a worse version of protea 1 as it does not regen shield when he is taking dmg like hers does. Also the sentients’s level dont scale with map level so a lv1000 enemy will shiet on your lv 200 sentient goons.
Calaban isn't the worst. He is just uninteresting nyx is less interesting but is immune to damage and a frame like banshee could be considered worse because she has 2 mediocre abilities but her debuff is way stronger than calibans
Aight.. caliban is not the most underrated warframe, he is honestly kinda bad, arguably at the moment the worst frame in the game. But that is just how modern warframe is, frame can be a solid 7/10 like caliban is, but when there is no frames are worse, then caliban is the worst by default. That just speaks volumes how good each and every frame is now at this day and age.. Of course that is not end all and be all, since old and forgotten frames like Banshee and Valkyr exist. They are both really solid frames as well, but at the bottom of the totem pole nowadays. As far as the most underrated frame is, I'd argue it's Vauban. And first, I have to remind you that underrated means that something is actually way better than people in general think it is, and I strongly believe this holds more true for Vauban than any other frame in the game. I know people rate him to be better than caliban, but not by much, while in reality he is way stronger than caliban. Both frames are the victim of being somewhat unpleasant and complex to play while not offering strong instant gratification over your actions, and that turns people away, hence being kinda underrated. Just that the potential value what you can get out of vauban is kinda nuts. Zephyr is in a very similar situation, extremely strong but people just sleep on her or don't want to play her.
I agree with most of the video but 4:55 sorry I'll have to disagree with the Trinity statement! I was a Trinity hater but now after playing with her and understanding her kit I'd say she is an A potentially S due to extreme build diversity p.e marked for death AOE nuke, Eclipse 75% dr max support energy, or low duration roar EV for LVL cap! I know this a Caliban video but I will now tolerate misinformation about Trinity! I am not trying to be a hater by any means! It just happens that this particular comparison caught my eye!
Been maining my dude for a bit now. I just maxed out str, a bit of duration, subsume nourish for 2 free mod slots and he can literally take on anything the game can throw at him. Only change I would make on him is for his drones to scale with enemies
"Nobody minds if there's a Trinity on their team, but she's not amazing." - My friends ask me to run Trinity for every tough mission. She is my go to solo carry. She is easily the only broken frame in the game right now with EV + Marked For Death. I can run level capped void cascades solo, comfortable, bc her 2 has infinite scaling damage and can nuke an entire room of any enemy type in 2 key presses. She also gives shield to defense targets with EV, which means if you find yourself in a bind on an ultra high level defense (like Duviri circuit) you can just spam EV and shoot a cold proc to keep the defense from dying. Limbo and Frost are the only frames that I know that could compete with this, and even then, overguard eximus just ignore their bubbles. Trinity turns eximus into pinatas... Then if you run combat discipline with her armor strip and champions blessing, your teammates just don't die, get to enjoy the game, and you can kill any tough single targets. So really she's ridiculously good in normal play as well.
The problem with Caliban is not if it's fun or not... When your first ability is a literal AOE Dash and your second Ability is again AOE CC third ability is basically Summon minions.. it leaves much to be desired when facing a Single Target Enemy.. And his 1 does no damage vs tanky eximus units without Sentient Wrath and Eximus are completely unaffected by CC So this leaves you with 3 useless abilities to focus your damage output and your final Ability focuses on an enemy properly but it is Once Again AOE makes this Warframe feel completely out of your Control when it comes to Landing your Abilities! There is Nothing to Land when everything is AOE it just splashes everyone with small numbers gives the impression you don't deal damage which is completely the case because DMG is too spread out and Minion AI is stupid you have 0 control over them there is "no real wombo combo" to be had here the Lifted mechanic makes it really awkward to shoot enemies... Basically it has only Cons going for it...
@@GuapFrame tldr i went alot more that just who I think are bad but what makes frames feel bad and I think no matter what someone will always be upset. hot take but valkyr chroma loki need reworks, caliban needs casting animations changed, limbos rift while not making him bad definitely needs to be changed for group integration. vauban could use a change or 2 . a few other frames I just talked about certain abilities and I'm probably forgetting about a frame. generally the frame I would say feels the absolute worst is chroma and if profit taker didn't exist people would also say it too. i think valkyr is outdated essentially either being a melee frame only having invincibility as a perk to using her over others she does have eternal war as a sort of a support and damage boosting ability but the 1 and 3 are completely useless. while limbo isn't bad as a frame. he's a frame most people would not use due to the disruptive way he plays in a group. yes I've seen the limbo video and that's exactly my point. he could easily be fixed if team mates could damage rifted enemies no matter if they were or weren't in the rift and even then people would still be annoyed by the rift. i don't think he's the worst or near that for his kit but for the way he affects groups. chroma currently is just for profit taker. his 1 was bandaided for changing his element still useless. 4 is for profit taker in general its not useful. it doesn't have to be damage it just doesn't do anything besides the every once and a while cc that's not controllable and is a drain. 2 and 3 are really what make him not only for the damage but that's the only useful abilities on him. they're ok with utility built into the elements and that makes him very unique. i still think just because of how warframe is now he is also very outdated. loki and vauban are victims of overguard and enemy changes. i still frequently use vauban just killing eximus and carrying on but id be lying if I said I used more than his 4. 3 scaling is bad and its only there for damage, any gun besides the stuck can do what it does, 2 is good...except vector pad, and 1 is kinda meh when his 2 and 4 exist seems kinda like filler. Atlas 2 needs to go its just not useful. why would you hide behind a wall when he's all about punching and getting to the enemy the push isn't great either. his 3 is used for his rubble passive so that's ok. the ability could still be different. loki just got changed and its great changes but i don't think its enough for me to generally just like using decoy and switch teleporting to keep it or me alive it seems like sort of a jank bandaid fix but I'm probably an odd one out on this one. he still is a invis frame with cc so its not like he's inaros before rework bad. banshee isn't bad at all but i think soundquake is a relic of the past. i farmed one caliban and fed him so i really don't have a lot of use for him but i just thought his cast animations were so bad to me that i didn't bother getting another. i don't think that damage is everything but to compare with every other frame I think these frames in some way or another are lacking in bad abilities or usefulness is completely replaced. some might say oberon, trinity, or nyx but I believe in general their abilities have use while others that I mentioned do not. wouldn't hurt to change nyx some though. nidus is pretty much just endurance frame that will always struggle with teammates blowing up the screen and I don't think there's anything they can do about it.

@@noahedenborg4221 no, in survival this won't do, most end game warframe players know this, that it's really hard to survive on health based build/warframes unless they have good healing in they're kit/ mods that compliment it, Personally i have taken excal to steel path in survival with wrathfull advance on his one. it's still annoying to survive compared to any other frame that can use over guard, heal or use shieldgateing
Objectively his kit is anti the mechanic incentive of the game.... hes a bad frame can i make him get lvl cap sure is it inspite of everything that makes the frame unique yes.... hes bad needs a retooling of his kit not an augment
Any time you see someone say Caliban is bad or D-F tier, you just know, they are also bad at the game. Just by looking at his kit, you can see a lot of potential specially with Helminth existing. His 1 definitely needs buff/rework, the rest of his kit is very useful in late game.
