it all begins w board confidence from riding. Then, learning Coleman slide is root of all; downhill like this is NOT the art of sliding ,it's the art of the best line w no speed loss from top to bottom. Sliding is merely braking w style & efficacy. The fast freeride skater doesn't skate this to slide. ideally we would not slide but one of top 3 safety laws is "maintain your lane" . Notice , Noah does so except where he's got a certain view thru the upcoming corner. So, the sliding is to keep as much speed thru a turn as is possible ,don't blow that lane & 'don't bleed too much speed' is the goal. you get steeziest & steezier style doing these mitigated braking slides & drifts & checks as you repeatedly improve on the same run ,again and again . lots of people in comments don't seem to know this stuff but it's important you don't get buy an ebay helmet & a 20yr old pintail then go & try this yourself; until you're good enough for your bros to feel that them driving -right on your b*tt at 35-55mph - on open road, in a small fast car, w a GoPro or Sony gimballed to the front of the hood ....then to follow you down recording it all , since you can skrt the hill now w braking techniques which freak us out they're so bad^ss & developed. and yep : you permanently attach outsoles on your shoes so the 36grit griptape will bite the deck & you are glued on. this run/footy is stoked af

because sliding is fun. slide wheels means more drifting and more control over the drift allowing for some of the moves noah does like picking his puck up mid drift.
