Is there an alternative to calibrate the speedometer? I had a custom Autometer speedometer built for my need and the 2 km (2 miles) drive is a real pain in the ass and even after multiple tries I'm still about 10% under the actual speed I am going. I'm at the point that I don't look at the speedometer but prefer to check the rpm/gear or an iPhone with a GPS speedometer. I understand there is a GPS module but there has to be an alternative if I know the pulse per miles(km) that the car return.. Thanks
From the calibration directions: Drive the 2 mile (2 kilometer) distance. The pointer will remain at the half scale position no matter what speed you drive. It will be normal to see the LCD odometer counting rapidly as it is receiving a speed signal. If you have to stop during the calibration, that is o.k. The speedometer will simply stop counting pulses during this time.
if i buy one of these will it fix a problem with my gear in the trans. like right now if i'm going 50 it says 37 and 40 is 22. so would it be able to fix it or would it just calibrate to what problem i currently have.
