Here's a California Adventure through Carrizo Plains. This off road trail offers a look at soda lake, wild flowers, wild life and the San Andreas fault line. It's a trip that will take you from Kern County to the coast. You can camp, hike and explore in this great plain area. We took the drone over soda lake. I'd like to go back for more drone footage. So that gorge that you flew your drone over was the Sam Andres Fault! Also that snake was a gopher snake. They mimic rattlers. They curl up and even shake their tail like a rattler. Just FYI

That is soda lake and there’s a lookout behind you. There’s deer, elk,and antelope around that area.

That 76 station is owned by a good friend of mine Tom. I’ve been going to Carrizo since the seventies.

Nice! I'm thinking of taking a bicycle trip from Gilroy down to the Carizzo Plain and back. I think I'd have to plan ahead and drive down their first, to drop off gallon jugs of water at various places along the way.

Watching your video, I noticed you didn't mention anything about the fault. The San Andreas Fault runs through the Carrizo Plain. You probably drove over a scarp.

the "trench" is the fault. I didn't realize it at the time.
