In this video we will be unboxing and setting up our new California Air Compressor and 5 gallon pressure pot.
My wife purchased this for me for Christmas this year as I was wanting to do some resin casting without having to go thru all the conversion processes.
I chose the California Air Compressor due to how quiet it is (and a little because I wanted it to match the pressure pot)
The set up for these are super easy, even though I did have a few "bloopers" along the way.
Thanks for all the support!

lol, i wanted to learn how to resin cast, but everyone talks about pressure pots but you need air compression to hook to it, so this video was perfect. Definitely need more of a budget to acquire both or just decide to deal with bubbles

wondering though if you need that much volume of a compressor to get to the psi you want in the tank, trying to see if i can get away with the gallon compressor to get the pressure pot fast enough to the psi needed ~60psi
@brokenbranchwoodshop1873
@brokenbranchwoodshop1873 Год назад
@@musubi-bi you can get away with a smaller but you’ll want you piece in the tank sooner. The larger fills the tank without having to go thru full cycling. Smaller tanks may have to cycle a few time to get it to the correct PSI.

@@brokenbranchwoodshop1873 I saw a bundle deal for a 2.5 pressure pump tank and a 1 gallon compressor. It might be a thing where I can find resin that takes longer to cure. thanks for the response back

Thank you for showing the set up… I was sold the wrong hose and didn’t know what to get. I ordered what you got off of Amazon. Thank you!!

I got the 2.5 gallon version and not only was that fitting (a 1/4" NPT male, right?) already installed, so were the caster wheels.

For the 5 gal pressure Pot whats the minimum size/power of the of the air compressor that I need to buy for it?

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought resin needs a vacuum chamber to remove all the bubbles, no?
@brokenbranchwoodshop1873
@brokenbranchwoodshop1873 Год назад
Some resins like a table top resin that had a long set up time, you can put in a vacuum chamber to put most of the bubbles out before you pour it for like a resin table. But when casting smaller stuff for like turning. You put it in a pressure pot and it compresses the bubbles until they are microscopic and makes it crystal clear.

Just a little constructive criticism, edit dead content out. People have a short attention span including myself. You have a video that's almost 16 minutes long, for an unboxing that's way too long. You spent 2 minutes of that video adjusting a pressure nub (which was very uninteresting), that could have been edited down to 3 seconds (maybe speed up that portion of the video 5x to shorten it, or just edit it out completely). You did a pretty fair job in editing your video in the (Lasered Wooden Amazing Grace Sign). Something to look into is to see how long videos similar to this take, I would imagine idea time is between 3-10 minutes, maybe longer if you explain and show/use how it works. I hope you take my constructive criticism as a way to build you up, instead of thinking I'm trying to tear you down. I didn't have to spend my time writing this if I didn't want to help, and hopefully, watch you succeed! Best of luck... looking forward to watching your next video!

Thank you for the feed back. I really appreciate it. We are definitely working on the editing part of this. I was torn whether or not to do the unboxing of both of these in the same video or not because I was worried about the time part. Thanks so much.
