The 2 seat version is the reason i bought a California, that way i can fit two longboards inside and still carry passengers and make the bed without having to put the boards on the roof, the storage units are also super handy. I love my California :)
I would prefer the 2-seat version. Extra shelve space is much more useful in ca camper van and the fact that the seating height is lower for the 2-seat version is preferrable as it is more comfortable to seat on.
I also prefer the 2 seater option for storage and I don’t need three back seats but it’s not available in Ireland. I can’t understand why buyers are not given the choice to have the 2 seater bench.
Presume this is a review of the Beach Camper given both models appear to only have one sliding door? With the Beach Tour, which we bought from you earlier this year, you also get a sliding door on both sides in the back which is an additional difference and may be beneficial to some - including us!
I bought the two seater Beach and love the space, especially the wide bed. However, since there are a couple of occasions when the fifth seat is needed, I bought the removable fifth seat that sits in the middle. It’s a fiddle to put in and take out and weighs a ton so it isn’t something you would want to do too often, plus with this extra seat you can’t use the downstairs bed.
Thanks for your feedback. I agree, this is only a good solution if you aren't planning on using it while camping. I do know of someone who bought a small tent to house their fifth seat in when they pull up on a campsite.
The 3 seat version in bed position is very high. Good for stockage under the bed... but not confortable to seat on the bed . It’s important to notice it i think. I hope to buy my New California next year and i’m not shure to buy the 3 or the 2 seat version :)
Hi Chris I am aware you are always looking for Ideas for videos. Would you look at aftermarket VW California options that are either VW approved like the VB air suspension, any others which may not be approved but will not affect warranty. Finally common ones which do affect warranty and what they impact, for example front speaker swap, would that just affect the speakers or would the whole audio system lose warranty, the same with lowering springs or a full springs/shocks swapped.
