The California Fastest Trowel on the Block and Masonry Skills Challenge were hosted at ORCO Block & Hardscape in Riverside. This is a huge Celebration of Masonry brought to you by ORCO Block & Hardscape, RCP Block & Brick, Angelus Block, along with sponsors, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
Fastest Trowel on the Block is a testament to the speed and skills of journeyworker masons who have the skill, confidence, and courage to face off with our industry’s best. There's money to win, fame to be gained, and masons were ready to take on the 20 minute challenge to complete as much of a 30 foot long concrete block wall as possible using only their hand tools. Each mason has 2 tenders as team partners to stage mud boards, 8”x8”x16” concrete blocks, and shake the mud for the mason.
ORCO Block & Hardscape President Rick Muth, and Director of Sales & Marketing Dave Echternach presented the big winning check payout of $2,500 to MITA Journeyman Howard Cole, NuWay Inc. Foreman.
Howard Cole is a MULTI-YEAR 5-TIME California Champion in the competition. And once again, Howard earned the privilege to compete at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry 2020 in MASONRY MADNESS in Las Vegas where thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be given away!
