I use WD-40, but I actually don’t know if that will wear down the axles overtime. From my experience, i’ve been using the same trains for ten months with WD-40 and it hasn’t had an effect, but I’m not sure if it will arise a problem in the future. For now, it works!!

Thanks! They way I get my trains to conserve speed is by applying WD-40 to the wheels. It’s a lubricant that makes a drastic change in how well the train keeps its momentum!

I'd say the best solution to get the most out of your trains are to install some bearings to the wheels, but you need a 3D printer to create the assembly. Here's the thingiverse file to the knex coaster bearing mod: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4263286/files WD40 works well for the first 50 runs, but over time the petroleum in it would degrade and eat away at the plastic in the wheels and slow down the car. I recommend to go for something that's 100% silicone like rc shock oil

In area, it takes up the most space of any coaster I’ve ever built. In height though, it is not my tallest.
