She says she is a Pan Africanist, but she is working for a western imperialist front company; the modern day BSA company. There is a new scramble for Africa in the wake of the Energy Transition where China and the Western countries are vying for control of minerals like Cobalt, Copper, Lithium etc. These minerals, they'll ship to their home countries to manufacture batteries for electric vehicles. Mfikeyi Makai is in a better position as a Pan Africanist, and with the experience she has, to lobby for the government to build an EV Battery manufacturing plant here in Zambia! A deal was sighned between Zambia and Congo last year to kick start this project by 2024 May but we haven't heard anything. It's almost as if the talk about the US funded Lobito corridor railway overshadowed the EV Battery plant, and possibly influenced the abandonment of the project. Cause let's face it, Lobito corridor is a conduit for shipping raw materials(Copper, Cobalt and Lithium) to the US and Europe; A DRAWBACK TO THE INDUSTRIALISATION OF ZAMBIA AND DRC. These minerals are the new oil. Zambia and Congo finally have the chance to become the Dubai and Qarta of the 2030s and 2040s, but that chance is slipping away. Right in front of our eyes!
