Having gotten acquainted with the basics of Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, it's time to take a look at the beastly Slipcase Set, which includes the Keeper Rulebook, Investigator's Handbook, and the GM Kit.
Besides the gorgeous slipcase, the books themselves are also gorgeous, as you'll see. In the Keeper Rulebook, the rules are presented cleanly and clearly, with plenty of helpful GM tips, handy combat flowcharts, and incredibly useful rules summaries at the end of the book. Plus it has a bunch of spells in the Grimoire, and a comprehensive assortment of Mythos monsters and deities in the Bestiary.
The Investigator's Handbook arms players with tonnes more occupation options, fleshed-out lists of weaponry, and ample background on the standard 1920s Mythos setting to help players feel at home in Lovecraft Country.
The GM Kit is a gem, too, featuring a comprehensive 4-panel screen, two great adventures, spare character sheets for those sudden-character-death moments, and a resource booklet full of useful reference material.
If you want the full CoC experience, I can't recommend this set enough; the set costs less than the three items separately, plus you get a snazzy slipcase! What's not to love?
I'm still curious whether it's worth upgrading to the later printings, since these are from way back in 2013; any thoughts from you guys would be very welcome :)
