You can check out Rebel Alliance CTF too but that server fills up at night so with the time difference between the server and where you live, it might not be worth it. I am assuming you are in the UK
I have a friend who made a custom mod for Call of Duty Modern Warfare the OG one from way back in the day he made all the maps available from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) which was fun way back in the. Where did those day's go where everything was DRM free. Hmmmmmm let me think because of Evolution of the Internet most things don't work these straight out of box because they expect everyone to have good Internet. Expect day one patches these day's The modding community will never let games die (Long live the Modders).
Yeah I must admit, even being a student artist/designer myself, it’s unfortunate developers aren’t given enough time to patch games (close to perfect) before launch, Instead of as you say, relying on patches there after through the internet. In fact, if I ever do decide to change industry I may still mod in the background as modders truly save some games from total death, breathing new life into them, just sad to see more and more developers choosing against making their games easily moddable nowadays as opposed to the 2000s and prior
