@@danaerys9621 yeah it was alright but I miss when the characters and music looked and represented the team you were on. Mw 2019 had “factions” but it dealt weird to have the same characters for every map and the characters didn’t relate to the faction they were on
I kind of miss all of the free customization from older games. Having many different factions made it feel like it had genuine effort put into it. Even just perks affecting your outward appearance, like lightweight giving you less gear or ghost giving you a ghillie suit, made COD feel like it had personality
@@howdoichangemyusername9802 Hate to say it, but it costs 20 dollars, plus the price of the game. (40 if you want a 100% chance in some CoD’s multiplayer, due to 2 teams playing) The only real upside is the variety in Ghillies.
fr, imagine for the mexico maps we are Fuerzas Especiales or PMC vs Cartel and then youd have cartel characters all masked up, with hats or bling vs Private Military or Mexican Marina (the latter of which goes head to head in real life). Then we have AQ (isis, taliban) and 141 or 141 for the middle eastern maps. missed oppurtunit and we are force to play as skin condition greeks. :ile i dont even know which is the "good" side as the american is default for SpecGru and Kortac and a Chinese operator is on 141 side, China is like Russia to USA and the west. this and the weaponsmith i dont really like, go back to the Pick 10 system
MWII factions would probably be like this: "Good guys" - 141 - Los Vaqueros - US Marines "Bad guys" - Mexican Cartel - Al-Qatala - Mexican Army - Konni "Third party" - Shadow Company (Can fight both good guys factions and bad guys factions)
Themes that stood out to me: 1. SAS, making you feel all covert and shit. 2. Marine Force Recon; Making you want to roll through a third world nation with an Abrams. 3. Rangers...Lead the Way. 4. Op-40: Making you feel like some 'badass' PMC. 5. Wehrmacht: the slow rythmic signaling of an ear piercing chime, almost like the Heartbeat of an unfeeling war machine

This is what made cod so immersive. Hearing the faction you spawned with was such a hype and adrenaline rush, especially when. Especially when the characters spoke, and let's not forget the other themes that play during the gameplay when you're winning, losing, or the game is coming to an end.
You know what's funny? In the Golden Age, you could tell what faction you were with because the Spawn Theme was audible, unique, and soulful. With MW19, BOCW, Vantard, and MW22, you have none of the above.
I agree. I prefer team class system than operator because it feels much more flare and similar to battlefield class system, until battlefield 2042 where class is replaced with specialist like black ops 3 or you can simply call it operator.
@@TheRebelTitan55 Every game the factions get lazier, in the MW and BO games there’s like 8 unique factions but in newer games there’s less and less (Ghosts, Advanced/Infinite Warfare, etc)
@@adams.2407 in those games that was the rise of the operators and specialist so it doesn’t make sense to have 100 different factions when everyone looks the same.
@@hopelesslyoptimistic8231 operators and specialists are ass, it's so damn annoying having to rely on name tags because you can't tell what team someone's on by their uniform. It also just ruins immersion
MW2019's system wasn't great but at least we had "sub factions" under Coalition and Allegiance. Now In MWII they couldn't even bother with that and gave us 2 bland factions that make no sense and don't fit anywhere into the story.
I believe SPECGRU and Kortac are both mercenary groups but one is affiliated with the CIA and Western agencies while Kortac is the mercenary for countries like Russia, Iran, and that fictional Middle Eastern country.
@@loserinasuit7880 nope Nazis were 100% the bad guys. WW2 is the only war that was black and white. There were soldiers who weren’t Nazis but they were still forced to fight the bad side.
BO1 OP40 has to be my favorite theme of all Black Ops games. i remember the memories me and my friends made when we used to go to each other's houses on the weekend, just chilling and playing this. too bad times aren't so simple anymore.
As I hear the themes, I close my eyes and I can hear the exact sounds from those games.. the gun fire, sound of breaking windows as you jump down and grunt on contact.. the nades rolling around.. I miss it all..
CoD really went from amazing factions like Spetsnaz, Rangers, Navy Seals, SAS etc. to some random mercenary groups like Kortac and Specgru that don't even have any solid lore behind them just so they could easily implement operators and skins (most of which don't even make sense).
I just finished the game for the first time (I know, a little late to the party) but I was really expecting to at least have the 54I and NRC as factions, we saw a lot more of them than the CDP and WA.
@@adrianbowen4024 It's never too late! I also often play games years after their release btw. Anyways, yes, I prefer CODs with several factions. I don't know why never CODs often stopped that and only have two factions.
This is when cod was cod. Multiple factions, badass themes, best maps, and some of the most memorable moments. The newer cods can’t even do this which is such a shame. They can’t even fix a damn over it’s life cycles while the old cods had that finished product on launch.
Besides mw2019, that's the best cod we ever had, coming from a mw original player, the rest of the newer cods after b03 are pretty bad, bo3 was only good because of the decent multiplayer but incredible custom zombies on pc
@@redbullsauberpetronas for me the last good cod was BO3. Every was great about it. MW2019 was only good during quarantine and that’s it after that it got boring
I love how the cod 4 ones, even the Marine one to a degree, sound the most haunting out of any of the other themes in the series. Almost like they're giving off the feeling that there's more on the line here than just a loss, like a loss for either side would be nothing short of devastating.
In BO2 and Ghosts, I enjoy playing as the SDC and Federation because I see a hope of redemption in both factions, but also because there are times when I like to side with the bad guys. Of course in BO2, if China and the SDC join the US after completing the Strike Force missions then they've already redeemed themselves. For the SDC and Federation, I think that their spawn themes suit them well for their respective games.
Bro black ops has some of the hardest spawn themes and it makes me mad that the new team system used in cod probably means we will never have something this good again
I love the spawn theme that was obsessed with each unit from 4MW to BO2. The current CoD spawn themes have a war movie quality to them, but I personally prefer the themes that are more akin to the out-and-out action movies of the older games.
Tell me you still don't cry to all the cod4 themes and proper og mw2 themes Hearing spetnaz scream WE'RE LOSING ALPHA WEVE LOST B! was the most emotional thing ever Or WE ARE BEING DOMINATED TAKE THOSE POSITIONSSSSS!!
10:07 The SDF spawn theme was so much cooler ingame, with the electric drop SFX when the logo appears (or whatever it's called). The contrast between the UNSA spawn theme's heroic tone and the SDF spawn theme's evil tone really tells you which ones are the good guys and which ones are the bad guys, a choice which in my opinion was not too good. The stroy and overall tone of the multiplayer would've been so much better if the SDF weren't just generic space Nazis, but rather meybe humans fighting earth for independence.
There's something that felt so cool to me about playing as a Delta Force operator, and I really hope they bring back the factions system, like there's different factions depending on the map you play, like mw3 mission, PMC vs African Militia or bo1 jungle, NVA vs Mac v sog
Fun fact about CODM: both teams have the same spawn theme, but theme depends on gamemode. In CODM, each gamemode has its unique theme. 12:02 is Team Deathmatch/Frontline, and 12:15 is Domination/Hardpoint. Other gamemodes also have their own themes.
It truly would've been disastrous for the world as we know it and potentially changed history if the enemy team won the war. Thank God the brave soldiers of our team managed to stop the enemy team, who knows how our world would be shaped today.
Its just so funny how they at least used "allies" and "axis" in WW2, and then its just "my team" and "enemy team" in Vanguard. Like yeah, I'll definitely never forget the brave heroes of My Team who gave their lives against the army of Enemy Team in world war 2.
MW1/MW2/WW1/BO/MW3/BO2 spawn themes are my favorite. MW1 is Spetsnaz, SAS, USMC; MW2 is Rangers, Spetsnaz; WW1 is Red Army, Marine Raiders; BO is Op40; MW3 is Inner Circle, Delta Force, GIGN, PMC; BO2 is Militia, Seals, Mercs. At least these themes I remembered for sure: 0:08 - Epochal, serious, filled with the Victory, no matter the cost. 0:16 - Tactical engagement, diversion or stealth operation. 0:38 - Hu-u-urah! Show them what we're made of, marines! 1:32 - to Victory, comrades! We will provail! 2:03 - theme full of ephos. The whole army steps in, without hesitation, moving forward like a chads. 3:03 - Rangers lead the way. No matter what time and day. I imagine marines attacking and breaking through in a slowed motion for a little. 3:49 - the moment before a big and loud shootout, or breaking through. 4:35 - just some cool theme - drives you up for combat. 5:28 - cool industrial theme for some tough operation, or tactical engagement before a total cleanup of the enemy forces. 6:37 - I actually don't know what comparison to make, but this theme somehow just was remembered. Feels like a preparation to something. 7:13 - another cool theme for cool guys, loaded with guns and ready for action. 8:08 - It's time for work, you know what to do. On the other hand - quite good industrial theme for futuristic PMCs. Or any PMC, I think. One theme wasn't included in the list, from BO: CW. 14:54 - for some reason, I feel Singularity ost vibe. But instead of futuristic soviet soldiers, we see Perseus personal agents with soviet symbolics.
I used to play all the old cods and I liked them and the themes as much as the next guy. But I gotta admit i do like some of the new ones even though ive basically quit CoD and that im not that big a fan of the new ones.
Just so you know it wasn't Hans. The MAIN theme of MW2 was by Hans Zimmer The rest of the soundtrack goes to Lorne Balfe, he's responsible for pretty much all the iconic themes we love (but doesn't get the credit because the music is published under Hans)
