Came here to pay my condolences to the voice actor who recently we lost due to cancer at only 56 years old. Rest in piece Kamar de los Reyes, you gave voice to one of the best characters we will ever see in gaming history. Thank you for everything you gave us.
Rest in peace, Kamar de los Reyes. This was the first thing I thought of when I heard the news. You were fantastic as Menendez in my favorite game during my last couple years of high school. Thank you ❤😭
He helped developed one of the most iconic and well developed villans of all Call of Duty games. No other villans can compete at such level... Rest easy Kamar De Los Reyes, you have earned your title and our respect. May Cordis Die live on under his legacy.
One of the main reasons why this campaign was so good is that it made you think more deeply whether or not you and your team did the right thing or not. It humanized the main enemy and made you feel bad for your actions or confused about the morals of your actions. It allowed you to make vital story line decisions, and the soundtrack helped you understand why Menendez was extremely disturbed.
My ending (Mason dies, Menendez spared and Karma saved) was perfect. I think storywise it's the best ending you can get. Section breaks the cycle of endless death and violence, but mourns his father who was victim of the cycle. As you say, it allows far better storytelling. Now I've seen all the endings online, the one I got is definitely my favourite
Woods: **looks at David** "This is the price we pay for what we do." David: "I'm done Sarge" **places colt M1911 on his father's grave** Woods: "Good, he's happy to hear that." David: "Are you talking to the dead now, Sarge?" Woods: "Nah, they talk to me."
To be honest, I used to like the "good" ending better, where Mason survives, but I've come to really enjoy the much tragic ending. Mason dying by the hands of his best friend is so dark and it shows how dangerous, vengeful, and intelligent Menendez was as a villain. People don't always get happy endings, and that is very true for someone in the military, especially clandestine operations since they're doing illegal shit all the time. Woods vengeance against Menendez led him down a path of rage and irrationality to the point where he killed Josefina, and the price he payed for that was the death of his closest friend. It's some powerful stuff, and if the game didn't give the player any choice during that part, that would have been insanely bold. Also, it's way too convenient for Alex Mason to survive that long after 1989 and only suddenly resurface 36 years later without contacting Woods or his own son in that time period. Even if he lost so much blood that he was put into a coma, wouldn't Woods or David be told by the CIA that Mason isn't dead? Let's say that the CIA purposefully hid Alex's survival from Frank and David. What DID Alex do for 36 years? What purpose did the CIA have to keep Alex's survival a big secret? The point is, there's a lot more conveniences in the happy ending, while the tragic ending is more solid storytelling wise.
I agree. At first I didn't like Mason dying because that what I did with Woods, it's so tragic and sad that Woods (You) killed Mason and made the story better, and Mason being alive just a fantasy (but it's apparently the canon ending which I don't mind) but when I grew older I feel Mason dying is better storywise and makes much more sense.
Me a 10 year old knowing nothing abour story, Oh hey is mason the guy from WAW with Reznov? but he died so how is he here now? and then i shot him now wtf?and is David his great grandson because this is the future and Masin is from the 40s Kids are dumb well i was
i agree with all this but yk what wouldve been sick, like a prequel to bo2 in bo3 campaign instead of the shit we got. like they couldve thought up some shit about what mason got into during those years idk...
@@muhammaddost6089 i think the future setting would have been fine if it wasnt already milked dry by other games and it would have been cool if it was like Bo2s MC sons or something like Bo4 did but just it had no campaign only little cinematics
I WANNA CRY OMFG LISTEN TO THIS JUS LISTEN TO THIS..... IM SO DAMN HAPPY I PLAYED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS A CHILD, BO2 WAS MY LIFE BACK IN THE DAYS, BO2 WOULD ALLWAYS BE IN MY HEART.... FUCK
I loved black ops ll and the decisions that were in the game were hella tough. This brings back one of the saddest moments that happened in the game. This song that was in the game is just beautiful. Listening to this again after years it makes cry now 😭
Section: I get it now... Woods: He loved you kid... Section: I know... Woods: This is the price we pay for what we do... Section: I'm done sarge... Woods: Good... He's happy to hear that. Section: You talking to the dead now sarge ?? Woods: Nah, they talk to me...
Niño precioso has a lot of versions sang by other artist but THIS, this one really brought tears in my eyes. I really love the second game so much and I hope one day they could remaster it 🥹 it would be nice.
Am i the only one who wished that in the Good Ending Menendez would come to accept his defeat and surrender and Section understanding Menendez's hate and anger then Menendez gets taken away and you hear this playing in the back in the Cutscene and maybe the Credits
Woods: (looks at David) "this is the price we pay for what we do" David: (places M1911 on his fathers grave) "I'm done sarge" Woods: "Good he's happy to hear that" David: "So you talk to the dead now sarge" Woods: "Nah they talk to me
