@@A_Stranger2256 The while trilogy is a lie. Makarov is an antagonist, but he was just a pawn in Shepherd's game. Shepherd funded Zakhaev and his war, sent gaz and Griggs to die an unnecessary war. Same with Allen. He made a deal with Makarov and he sacrificed Allen for his wet dreams. Then, everything else is a consequence of his not so little game. Cod 4 was Shepherd's fault, MW2 was Shepherd's fault, MW3 Was Shepherd 's fault. Gaz, Ghost, Roach, Griggs, Soap, Sandman, Yuri... All of them died because of him.
@@ArcturusOTE the other patriots are Shadow Company. Shadow Company is an elite military unit led by Shepherd. Shadow Company manipulated events secretly to fit an unknown agenda by killing politicians and affecting the elections. So Shepherd is stil still the only mastermind in charge.
Baseplate One since the dialogue was cut from the game it most likely means non of what he says here is not true in the official cannon. I'm happy this was cut as it came across as shepherd being a moustache twirling villain telling the good guy everything bad he's done. Its pointless
You know what's funny about this is that there's a cut MW3 ending with a shadowed figure carrying a briefcase. Maybe that voiceline has something related to it, a cut storyline plot perhaps?
Perhaps the mysterious man seen in the cut ending of MW 3 could be one of the "patriots" that Shepherd talks about in the cut ending of MW 2. It would make sense if you think about it
I do wonder why is the extended dialogue cut? Especially him revealing his support of the Ultranationalists and making a deal with the Kremlin? Maybe IW thought his involvement planting Allen in No Russian was already obvious?
Well what I personally think is that this game was already controversial because of no Russian The state of Washington during the war US soldiers killed left and right the fact that during on they're own Accord there it was a cut section of the mission that the Russians was supposed to kill US citizens and also on top of that during the final 3 missions you even kill US soldiers so I guess they figured out that it was already too controversial and they had to cut some of the stuff for the game to see the light of day (just think that even the final version had troubled launch)
Late reply No, that cut dialogue is reffering that before Cod4 events Shepard along USA funded the ultranationalists to instigate the civil war to weaken Russia more, but eventually they lose control of Zakahev who started to strengthen the Ultranationalist into a real threat, so they switched to aid the loyalists then the next what happens is what we see in COD 4

And Activision cut all this because it was afraid of creating something too controversial, especially if we consider No Russian, transforming not only MW 2 but also the entire Cod saga into a video game where the Americans are the good guys and the Russians are the bad guys without any grayscale? They practically threw everything the developers said in the first Modern Warfare and everything they wanted to tell in MW 2 down the toilet just to follow the fashions of those times regarding shooters. Now I can't look at Call of Duty the same way after discovering this discarded ending 😅
I'm just saying it off theme, but in almost every modern military shooter there is always at least one representative of US Armed Forces which does not only consults game developers but also approve the licenses to various weapons and vehicles to let them be shown in game. Latest Modern Warfare reboot was consulted by USMC for example. So in the past many games like CS 1.6 didn't used real guns because then they were afraid to be sued by arms manufactures. Nowadays the legal situation is better for artists and even brands like Kalashnikov are pretty liberal with portrayal of AK's in media of all sorts. But some kind of stigma is still there (for vehicles, at least). So when big military-themed games get any sort of help or even funding in some part from US Armed Forces, then they are found themselves in some sort of a deal. All terms and conditions of these deals are unknown, but it widely assumed that if US Armed Forces in some sort helps with the game, then it obviously must not stain US Armed Forces in any way. This at least explain why all these inflated blockbusters are so biased towards US. And this explain why not only MW2 ending was horribly chopped, but why even videos showing original story are deleted by publisher itself - because it shows that initial intent of script-writers was to criticize the US imperialistic view of the world. It turned Shepard from a lonely maniac into just a gear in the big military system, which purpose is only to create more "justified" wars around the globe for profits of selected few. The reason why it turned out so bad this time is only because Makarov discovered the truth about Zakhaev western support and decided to pay Shepard back by waging war between US and Russia.
Apparently in the final product of COD Shepard was driven into WW3 sanity after losing 30,000 men from Makarov's nuke. but in the original script all he wanted was to be a war hero which is still in the finals but in a different reason under the trauma of the 30k men and TAKING MEANS NECESSARY even if means throwing an innocent soldier like Allen into a death trap in the Airport with other innocent civilians in both sides (Russian invasion and the airport), attack to trigger a WW3 to get Makarov into play, forcing the Government into giving him a blank check...?
In reality, in my opinion, in the original plans there shouldn't even have been the death of 30,000 men among Shepherd's motivations given that in the cut ending of MW 2 he clearly says "We helped and financed Zakhaev" and then mentions some mysterious "patriots" who 'they helped. In fact, in the initial plans, Shepherd was supposed to be the cause of the events of Cod 4 Modern Warfare and not just Zakhaev. In short, the main person responsible for the death of those 30,000 American soldiers had to be Shepherd and not just Makarov. In practice, Shepherd at the beginning was supposed to be an all-round bastard comparable to Zakhaev and Makarov and not simply a lonely madman. In all honesty, I like this cut ending more than the ending we had because it makes the story grayer and the events more complex.
@@Dr_Piscatellain Cod 4 Shepard was Command and Chose to Send 30,000 Men to Get One Guy( Even Commenters said this). Knowing they may have a Russian Warhead as Seen in the Shock and Awe Mission Intro.
@@hurricane7727 When you are against an army, you can't just go in with the usual spec ops OR they are gonna have to go in HARD and FAST before it deploys although it was already too late once the unit that went to find it were behind schedule (in MW3 they were setting it up until they called Makarov saying its ready). If we are sticking to the final character aspect of Shepard still being the good guy and not the ORIGINAL aspect before the nuke turned him insane for losing 30k people and in obsession for REVENGE and POWER (Blank check by setting off WW3 and convinced the council until price used a nuke to make an EMP in the atmosphere) Although a night spec ops would be the better option, but perhaps Shepard's battalion isn't equipped for stealth and had to go all guns blazing instead after raiding the radio station
@@justasimplegamer129 Their Intel was wrong as well . Al Assad wasn't in that City which was a apart of the reason for the Army Invading the Capital. SAS also didn't tell Command there was a Nuclear device and just said a Russian Warhead and one of them could have been a Mole Sent by Makarov or Imran Zakhaev( reboot Makarov used moles and Og Makarov could used a Mole Too).
In Cod 4 He was Command and in mw2 He was Demoted to Army General Post Shock and Awe and not Respected as much by other Branches while in Cod 4 he had Command over All Branches in Shock and Awe Mission meaning he was possibly a 4 Star General before Demotion and missed that Power
i think you were meant to play as price in very early development but they scrapped it,then they decided the player should be sopa,my guess is,the 1v1 goes on,until shepherd's dialogue gets cut off,my guess is price attacks him and you try to kill him but he stabs you,and price somehow finishes the job,the reason why is because after you knife shepherd it says insert special player seeing knife in self sequence,so the knife is still inside
Simply put, in the initial plans for Modern Warfare 2 Shepherd was supposed to be responsible for all the messes that happened in the first Modern Warfare. In fact, as Shepherd says in the cut ending, he, presumably together with the American government, financed and supported Zakhaev to start a civil war in Russia with the aim of weakening the nation but in the end the situation got out of hand transforming Zakhaev into a threat for the West, and this is where all the messes of the first Modern Warfare begin. Shepherd at the beginning was not supposed to be a mere lonely maniac but a real cog in the big military system. Even today we don't know the reasons why they cut everything, there are those who assume that they cut everything for purely political reasons, perhaps under pressure from Activision but we can't know for sure but one thing is certain, the cut ending, from what we saw was much nicer than the ending of the full game
Activision definitely felt pressure for political reasons, hence why they changed up the ending a bit. If it wasn’t for that, we might as well have gotten this ending. Oh well
I still wish just to see what was the original MW3 plot supposed to be. If only Vince Zampella or the writers of the original Infinity Ward had released the plot script. Just a plain text would do.
I remember this ending price will not help you and doesn’t push Shepard from you getting shot and you get shot I dreamed seeing this and the screen blacked out then 2 graves John “Soap” Mactavish and Price idk what’s his full name and Shepard being saluted from his shadow company and that’s all I know
In a way this explains that Flashback Mission in mw3 in All Ghilled up Timeframe with Makarov and Yuri. So Usa was supporting Zakhaev back then too which makes Cod 4 Switched Sides Alliance Canon
