I love the line from a story and acting standpoint - but I have to wonder, when was this guy planning on calling in this invasion? He’s looking at swarms of MiG’s and Russian transports over I-95 and he not only says nothing until someone contacts him, the first thing he does say is the vaguest, most panic stricken thing possible. Damn it, Sierra Delta…
@@Neko-san Red Dawn was a 1984 movie first, and that’s where this got inspiration from, even naming an achievement “Red Dawn” for completing both ‘Wolverines!’ And ‘Exodus’ on the hardest difficulty
This is what all of the Call of Duties after Modern Warfare 2 lacked- a sense of realism. I remember when I played CoD4 (MW1) which then lead to MW2, you could almost feel like the events that were happening were real as they tied in to modern politics or past events such as coups in the Middle East. I remember watching this cut scene and was like, *Holy crap! The Russians are launching an invasion of the U.S.!* All of the communications you heard sounded so surreal. I think the scene right after this was the sound of the emergency broadcast system and then you were put on the ground to counter-attack the invasion. It was creepy seeing Russian armor going down the streets of suburban American with our flags flying in our front lawns and our nice cars in our driveways. No other Call of Duty did this and it is a shame.
"All stations be advised. Satellite surveillance has been disabled. SOSUS and PAVPAW arrays are inoperable at this time." Man, hearing that and loading in to seeing a BTR rolling through the streets.... Really made you feel like you were on the back foot. What a game.
Modern Warfare 2 is the best call of duty in my opinion. I finished the campaign 14 times and every time I play it over, I enjoy it just as much as the first time.
-Scope is clear. I dont know what to tell ya. -*SIREN* -THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!! -*SIREN* Fuck man, LOL. That was the best ever moment in my whole life full of gaming, damn. I went nuts on that moment.
That voice actor must be the same guy that delivered ... "We've got contacts...lots of them...but they're not Covenant...they're just tearing through us..."
@@CDbiggen I have kept getting too drunk before starting the game LMAO but tonight I'm good though!! And no drinking! And finally ready to officially start the baby = ) It's gonna be lit! mw2 Is my favorite war game of all time = )! I'll be playing it on ps3 btw
@@CDbiggen But damn!! You're a beast though!! ALL 3 SINCE MY COMMENT!?! LMAO You're a beast! MW3 alone would take me at least 3 days to beat. I do tend to play it on thr hardest difficulty though, for what it's worth Haha After I neat mw2, I will jump right to mw3! Hopefully, I can beat it much faster this time 🤗
@@Ramxie35 they can't even invade Ukraine correctly, what makes you think they'll have the capabilities to cross the Atlantic and the Pacific and mount an invasion?
@@terrypennington2519 are you literally stupid? Theyve annexed entire countries, empires, and regions. America hasnt done shit but get their asses beat by middle eastern terrorists and militias and Vietnamese😂
Fun fact. In the start of the mission if you quickly look to the house at your left, you catch a glimpse of Rick and Morty closing their garage as the Russian paratroopers come in
Really makes you shudder to think about it. As Americans it’s an extremely foreign idea that any enemy country could actually project force across our borders and it’s almost impossible to imagine
@@sweetballs4742 he's asking because they should've been able to detect them from their satilities from miles away but did not due to faulty equipment sabatoged by General Shepherd.
@@RANDOM27ify tbh and imo, the Russians can't get there in the east coast that fast. Why? First, how did they bypass literally all of Europe (which most of the nations there are US allies) to get there? Second, even they do, logistics would be their problem on that huge gap (especially the whole entire Atlantic Ocean is a pain in the ass to send in all those tanks, ifvs gunships, and also jets), the war could be lasted by just one week unless you got some freaking magic teleporting thing to send all those troops there. And last, I know he was asking about it, and yes, I know it was Shepherd's fault, but he just sabotaged the DCS, he did not give oil to the Russians to send those planes there magically (because all I know, those planes need a stopover all the time before they reach the US east coast).
@@sweetballs4742 The countries aren't allowed to respond because Russia is not committing an act of war they are committing an act of retaliation. As in the eyes of Europe the U.S carried out a terrorist attack on their people and they don't need oil because in this universe the Ultranationalists made them a superpower again, they're not crippled like how they are in modern times.
@@user-golos they did it because they wanted Russia to divert troops which didn’t happen instead Russia is mainly fighting the invasion off with planes and only a few troops, instead of falling for the diversion trap they kept most of their troops in eastern Ukraine, ironically Ukraine is the ones who actually diverted troops from their eastern front so that they could go into the Kursk invasion, this is how confident Ukraine was that Russia would divert troops as well, instead now Russia is bulldozing through Ukraines eastern front mainstream western media is only talking about Kursk but Russia taking over town after town themselves rn
@@shawne02 heh Russia is afraid to touch nato; 1 conflict and you'll have the entire west out to get you and it'll prolly escalate into a full war if China decides to join
I remember being told of an invasion of the U.S.A. in this game by someone else. Still didn't prepare me for just how chilling this little scene was, or actually seeing what an invasion would look like.
Aye I agree, as much as the media loves to big up the eastern power, none of them could mount any sort of successful invasion on the majority of western countries, not even China could. The gap between technology and training is a huge game changer. Having large man power doesn't mean shit when you can just drop bombs that could clear them off of the battlefields and they have some of the worst training in the world because there are so many of them to train that its often done by those without experience and any real clue of how real combat is. I watched a documentary once where British soldiers spent two weeks in China, supposedly these Chinese soldiers were some of their best and both the British and Chinese soldiers competed to track down a target using maps. The Chinese took half an hour longer to find the target than the British did... and this was in their own country. Countless times, Eastern powers Generals have come forwards and complained about the training, they still use WW2 tactics of basically running at their enemy in huge groups... which is retarded considering we now have heavy rapid fire machine guns and choppers than can fire from miles away.
ThyRed Coats you know nothing of what you're talking about you think they don't have training they have equal if not better training than US military personnel technology there in China and Russia both have laser weapons on some ships just like the US they also have the best anti shit missiles in the world and to Russia's t90 is far better than the Abrams they have larger manpower and stronger allies so indeed what was showcased in modern warfare 2 is very possible successful invasion of the US would be actually pretty easy just drop a nuke in the atmosphere creating an EMP burst that would disable Americas electrical system for months to come well that's done they invade and only have to fight against them is assault rifles remember when in modern warfare 2 EMP burst came and by the time you reach New York in modern warfare 3 there was already electricity well that was false they should still not have equipments running the Russians should have had the advantage don't speak as if Western powers military are godly cuz they aren't they have their flaws just like Eastern powers
Scary part is are they preparing to come for us next. We haven’t fought a war on US soil since we used muskets, what are thousands of assault rifles gonna look like, not like the Middle East it will be far worse. Talk about hell is coming.
Lol half of them would look like swiss cheese before they hit the ground and the other ones would run into either a military unit, gangland and bullt ridden chicago/LA urban hell or 700-gun-owning yehaw rednecks in lift kit trucks with 10 times the ammo they dropped with😂
It becomes quite amusing when you realize that Russia is unable to properly invade a country that is 30 times weaker, even if it is across the border. XDD
Bud if they wanted to "invade" they would have levelled the whole country with complete bombardment but they needed public support because they didn't wanted them to join NATO.. the reason why they did the "invasion" was to stop Ukraine from entering NATO.. and they succeeded in doing that.. no country which is at "War" can enter NATO.. and even after all this if it enters NATO then.. the principles of NATO will be disregarded by every NATO country and world will be pushed in WW3.. and if America ever plan to place nuke interceptors around or in Ukraine then next thing you know there will be nukes flying all over US..
ENn0ble Russia basically sandwiched us in and trapped us and giving Russia's size and army it's shocking they took basically both coasts in what a matter of weeks?
