I could get behind this style of sound design if the weapons were actually distinct from one another. The amount of sounds that are recycled between guns is just ruining it for me. Everything sounds the same. No other CoD dev ships weapons that sound this similar to one another.
I agree. The guns sound like they're loosely assembled and will fall apart any minute. Not to mentioned all the recycled sounds. Reminds me of Black Ops 2 reload sounds. No excuse for that in a 50GB+ game. I can't wait for IW to be back behind the wheel for MW2.
it might have to do with the actual weapons and magazines, most of the MW mags are polymer or aluminum, old school magazines were mostly steel and the bug. beefy springs in those old school mag releases sound like that, weapons of that era were built to a level of durability that you dont really see today (it's not just because they are classics that you still see old surplus second or pre ww2 era stuff still kicking around, that crap was designed not exactly to be super high end but to survive abuse by people who by today's standards had very basic maintenance knowledge and training)
@@josephmontanaro2350 Yeah I don't have an issue with the sounds at a fundamental level. I'm no expert on gun manufacturing and materials, but in general the style of sounds they use make sense for the types of guns and the materials they are made of. The failure of Vanguard's sound design for me is that weapon sound profiles are way too similar and individual weapons lack a distinct identity. Weapons of the same class mostly blend together from one to the next due to many sound assets being recycled across the suite. The best example of this are the bolt-action snipers which all use the exact same sound for pulling the bolt. This particular sound, alongside the fire sfx, is probably one of the most important sounds for a sniper's identity and they just copy pasted the same one for each. It's just disappointing.
The Breda PG (or whatever fictionalized name they call the 4-round burst rifle) is technically Italian. Not fielded by the Italians but made by Italians. :P
@@DeNihility I meant something more legit like the MAB-38 which was liked and used by Germans throughout the war. And Not the random scattered itra thing that was exported to Costa Rica
Hearing MW reload is one of the most satisfying thing I ever heard (ASMR), Vanguard animation are good not gonna lie but the sound design and reload sound feel so off, IDK maybe I adore the MW sound too much that I think it’s a big shame that good animation but don’t have the same quality as MW did (IMO).
Here's the big question: In the game, it looks like it's a 3 round magazine, with 1 in the chamber during a tactical reload. I highly doubt that they bothered to give you 4 shots if you do a tactical reload.
@@Oyebadumn let me tell you that every call of duty that's apperently great reused sounds like mw3 reused sounds from mw2 and mw2 from mw and bo2 from bo so who gives a fuck whether they reused some sounds and they don't sound like eating dog food by the way
@@JF-vz1ju It is but its cursed plus even the historian doesn’t want to look at those bizarre weapons with fictional attachments (some of them can make them accurate)
it's a shame that these good animations are paired with recycled metal reload animations. I don't mind this particular sound, but there's no distinction between guns. Sometimes, the reload sound helps people identify the gun being used for competitive purposes or gives them individuality.
Animation good as always, sounds are reused, and they massacred my boy PTRS-41, the weapon line up is a bit lacking. Wth happened to the iconic american weapons like the M1 carbine or the grease gun. These two weapons were used alot alongside the garands, tommies, and bars. They also just forgot about french and italian forces even though most of us knew that italian and french forces were important during the war despite being bad at warfare themselves.
@@TheGamingBurger734 that's unfortunate for you, they don't have those guns from the get-go, and even did they added those guns thru Season Pass, they don't usually add DLC guns on campaign missions.
Impact that actually vanguard deserve are very nice and beautiful.. that a "quality of game" and who just want realism game.. just make your own game lmao
The audio on large guns in Vanguard kinda stinks, but all the tinks fit really well for the smaller SMG's and Handguns. Animations are nice though, if the sound was better on the PTRS it'd be really good, love the weight.
wtf is with these reload sounds? it's as if they got two oily steel or iron ingots and just knocked and slid them about to make the sounds.... They literally could have reused sounds from MW2019 and it would have been far better than this crap.
If I had to describe what CoD reloads turned into: The guns feel loose. Like theyre about to come apart with every movement. And the character, with the aggressive screenshake, feels like they are just straight up trying to fistfight that gun. I hate CoD reloads.
Maybe the sounds are shit but i'm happy they put a PTRS I love that gun in every game it appears But,the PTRD it's a better concept for me,a Single Shot Sniper
PTRD should be more balanced as it is a single shot, but since we already have a PTRS, maybe a Panzerbüsche would do because it's a single shot AT rifle too.
I actually really like this game. It was exactly what i wanted from Cold War, a copy but in ww2. It would be perfect if it weren’t for the 10 attachment slots and horrendous customization.
