Call of Juarez bound in blood is my favorite game of all time. This game got me into gaming. I remember playing this for the first time. I liked this game more than I liked both Red Dead Redemptions. I don't think I was the only one that loved the graphics and had a bond with Thomas and Ray. I still remember the open world missions, when I just looked at the mountains, the trees and heard the wind, the voices of Thomas and Ray and the birds chirping, my horse and the soundtracks. This game is way better compared to the games today. In this game, you don't care about the graphics, because they are beautiful. They truly are beautiful. I remember looking everywhere for the secrets. I love this game. If it had Campaign Co-Op, it would've been more popular. this actually is the most underrated games of all time.
WTF? This is a mistake, THIS IS COJ2 not 1. They need to rename this video. Also the 1st one is really good as well. More realistic actually in many ways.
I was playing the game today and I bought it 2 days ago. The outside enviroments were so breathtaking to me that I stopped and just stared at them. I shut my eyes and listened to the birds and the summer breezes, almost like when you at summer sit on some meadow and just taking in how beautiful everything is at summer. I thought that the colors and the sound design, while not as top class as some games released today, had such a depth and warmth to them that I just felt almost emotionally touched by how beautiful everything was. I know might have sounded a little exaggerated, but that is seriously how I felt looking at the graphics and listening to the sounddesig during the calm, peaceful moments.
This game is nothing like Red Dead Redemption. It's like Call of Duty, Western style. The game is really fun, and has tons of replay value. The only thing that's really annoying, is the McCoy's youngest brother. I can't remember his name. He's a priest, talks like Bill Clinton, never stops preaching to his brothers about abandoning their ways, and finding the lord. Seriously, this guy will annoy the shit out of you. But, that's the only drawback to the game. They should have left him out.
People are still playing this on PS3. Had some fun last night when I got bored with the single player for a bit. It's a fun game though, for sure. Everybody will think RDR when they come across it, but if you approach it with that mindset you might be disappointed. Treat it like a different game and you might like it a lot, for many of the same reasons you liked RDR.
This game is a prequel to Call of Juarez. This goes more in depth into the background of Reverend Ray before he became a pastor. You also get to meet younger versions of Juarez (His name is revealed to be Juan Mendoza), Calm Water (Running River which was his old name), Thomas McCall, Marisa, and get to see William who was only briefly mentioned in Call of Juarez.
Real fun game and its great to see the relationship between the brothers. Ray is very funny! I'd definitely play through this again and take my time to find all of the secrets etc. I've had this game since its release but never got around to finishing it until now. I enjoyed it that much that I am going to get the rest of the franchise and have a go at them. It's just a shame that the first isn't available on PS3.
+WSRMediaChannel gunslinger is awsome, avoid the cartel and for the first game, try running it on your pc, it will run on a toaster an it costs next to nothing on g2a www.g2a.com/call-of-juarez-steam-cd-key-global.html
Thanks for this review!! This looks like an excellent and great game, I am planning on buying this one,, or at least, getting this game one, lol, for Christmas. Thanks again for posting this..!!
some of it is free roam, its more linear with different path and multi characters, some quests than earn you money stores and don't forget, amzing storyline and yes online is fun, lots of people play and barely barely barely any lag at all that i have experienced and i've had it for a couple of weeks
I'm not gonna sit at a computer desk to play a game on a 22 inch monitor. What am I, a fucking nerd? No, I'm gonna sit in a nice comfortable chair and play it on my 42 inch LCD.
@LordNazgul95 nope... you're wrong... red dead redemption is a sequel to red dead revolver which was released in '04 for the ps2 and xbox. it predates the original call of juarez 1st released in '06
@VJWarren Aboriginals are black skinned, but they're not Africans. They're just proof that two groups of people can have similar appearances despite not being related.
Shit? No way! Its good even compared to many AAA games today. So atmospheric. So immersive that I just want to live in Hillys and take pictures of everyone. It just got released during a holiday rush with plenty of other games that it got overlooked. I guess it might be the title or because its got a female protagonist thats not Tomb Raider. People are afraid of the unfamiliar sadly :(
no the game startes with that video and when u play the game you play everything that happens brfore that then when u beat the game its tells you waht happens good gamei bought the first day it came out lol i had gift card and there was nothing coming out anyways lol
This game looks sweet. Can anyone tell me if it's free roam? It looks like it could be, but then that could just be great presentation. I personally think a first person free-roam western would be pretty cool.
@sxyjavon Well that is not a major issue. We can stream TV and with wireless controllers as well as wireless keyboards/mouse we can do anything we really want with our PC. I can stream my PC to my game room OR my bedroom depending on my mood and so I can game 2 rooms away from my PC. Then with USB my wireless signal never wavers making it superior. Can't beat the PC...if you can they will make a way to stop it ^-^
This game has a weird gameplay, I'm playing it and it feel like I'm playing Medal of honor Allied Assault. It feels like and old game. The physics are bad. The lip syncing is bad. The way the characters move is weird. Maybe I'm just used to the awesomnes in GTA IV, Arkham Asylum, Bad Company 2 and even Just Cause 2. I liked the concentration mode though. I hated the covering mode though. I didn't payed attention to the history yet.
@Blake00711 it was just a fucking comment...My first impression was "wow, a black guy in a cowboy hat, talking about a video game with an Australian accent...That's different." Of course I know about aborigines but apparently you can't just comment on a youtube video anymore because trolls will jump on your back about it.
@greentea1494 The fact that it has an open world is the exact fact that makes it completely different, its like trying to compare Portal with Half-life, just because they both take place in the same period, doesnt mean they can be compared, and by the way, Open world does not make the game better, it needs to be done right. (not saying that RDR didnt do it right).
@jkhn14 Yeah, I know that, but when you compare the two NOW is what I'm referring to. But at the same time - and I'm going out on a limb here - it is likely that Red Dead: Revolver came out before Call of Juarez, so the concept might have been similar to Dead Eye in that when "Concentration Mode" was though of.
You don't think they could have made a game console without PC existing first. Since a console is just a stripped down PC anyway, I think you're wrong. Game consoles could have come first. And with smart phones, I don't need a PC to post a comment to RU-vid.
bad ai? smart organized force? cowboys were brawlers. they would run at you screaming untill they were dead or untill whatever they were running at was dead. they wernt intelegent. so why is that an isue? do you expect hard drinking cowboys to have militarylike precise ai?
@sxyjavon well you could do that with a pc game also, you just need the right equipment/hardware and hdtv that you can hook your card up to.beleive it or not but everything you can do on console you can actually do on pc if not better,if you know what your going that is
@schwarzengerman My bad. With all this talk about Red Dead Redemption lately, it was the first thing that came to mind. After posting that, I remembered Red Dead Revolver and that's why I deleted my comment. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Too many games with "Red Dead" for me to handle, I guess.
I was thinking about getting this for my PS3, and I was wondering if it has a decent size online community. this would really confirm a buy, and also if it has any lag or glitches online. some responses would be greatly appreciated.
@dantenebula Hmm, maybe, I haven't got the game myself - I'm not too keen on the FPS nature of the game (considering it's a western as well.) You must admit though, Dead Eye is very satisfying to pull off. =]
one of the best single player THERE IS FOR A FP SHOOTER, Multiplayer is plain fun, arcady. It's ashame everyone play COD. Maybe it's too old school. Maybe not as polished as COD, but it's fun fun and fun.
i thought my graphics card had an issue, But apparently it is the game, Notice the shadow effects. they look so jagged and shitty. But good gameplay and storyline makes this a great game.
@AlbertimusPrime it's not better . I was really dissapointed in RDR, FUN STORY, but the online is so boring, i was shocked. I know COJ is not perfect but damn it's fun feast online.
dude, just because you dont mod doesnt mean its stupid to youse your pc for games. and why is it so bad to mod your game and abuse certain aspects, it pushes the game foreward
@greentea1494 I think the stories are about the same. Maybe Red Dead is a little better. And Call of Juarez could have been a great free roam game, had they gone through with it. The occasional free roaming parts with vast worlds, jobs, and random encounters were amazing. Read Dead status in fact. The two games could very much be equals had they just taken one more step.
