I have New Level 623-M irons and TM P770s. Honestly, I like the feel of the 623-Ms more, but like the tech in the 770s. Either way, I end up with a score near my 4 handicap.
Great comparison video. Congrats Robert - those irons should do you well. Was hoping for an early Christmas present, but I like my Pings so all is well.
Good video, I don’t know that the advantages your speaking about mean all that much. Most players buy the stock offering sometimes even after they go for a fitting. Takomo does give you quite a few shaft options and if you know your spec I’m sure you can find a profile to match.
The biggest reason for the difference in price (which no one seems to say) is that when u buy irons from dicks or ur proshop or golf town they are selling them at probably atleast double what they bought them for.. the middleman always gets a cut.
Interesting that the Callaway had 300 higher spin despite 0.5* stronger loft. Curious if you checked the loft & lie on both clubs? I’ve seen where some DTC companies have lesser quality control often delivering clubs >1* out of spec in both loft & lie. I’ve seen this really prevalent with PXG, wondering if the Takomo have reasonable tolerances. I find it curious that while the Callaway was higher spin, it had a tremendous deviation in spin, varying over 1500 in just 5 shots. The dispersion however was much tighter. While I have not hit the Apex Pro 21’s, I played the Apex Pro 16 for 5 years. Would not consider feel to be a strong suit but very forgiving and a solid iron on most lies, the sole just a bit too wide out of rough. For such a forgiving design, I was able to control shape and flight to my liking. Not of course as playable as my MP32’s that preceded the Apex but dramatically more forgiving. I’ve recently switched to Muira’s, far better feel yet as workable and forgiving. My club builder checked loft & lie of every iron upon unboxing, every iron was within 0.1* of spec. All 7 (4-PW) were dead-on w/lie, the 4 & 8 were 0.1* weak, the other 5 were dead-on for loft. You of course pay for that level of quality control and certainly any forged iron could be easily adjusted after build but I appreciate a level of quality control that an instrument like an iron head was built the such a tolerance level.
Miura are famous for their ultra tight tollerances. 300 spin could be just the little extra ball speed+ the Apex has variable face thickness design. Takomo is a solid cavity. But such deviation might be seen if the ball is places slightly further ahead in the stance/ higher dynamic loft. Hardly any difference basically for a good ball striker.
@@lavrentievv 300 spin difference was the averages; the Apex being higher despite supposedly stronger lofts. I can believe that just by groove design or head moi. I was just curious if anyone verified the exact loft & lie of each club as opposed to referring only to published specs. The big issue is the Apex deviation. 1500 rpm is ALOT for a 7-iron. The carry distance was within a couple yards. It’s also not like just a single outlier, there were 2 of the 5 at or below 5000, 2 other at or above 6000. Assuming he’s using same make & model ball of similar freshness it’s hard to imagine how that much deviation can/should occur on seemingly all well struck balls that had carry distances with
Spammer is at it again lol I'm a winner for the second time, wanted me to contact them through what's app AGAIN! Enough of this bs I'm not going to follow the channel anymore
Question: do you use a 7 iron in all your test videos? In your video JPX 921 Forged vs Apex the spin you are getting from the Apex is 6400 average. In this video it is 5600? Wondering why the discrepancy. Average club and ball speed is similar in both. Thanks. Love the content
