Callisto Protocol is like The Order 1886 in space 

Nah. The Callisto Protocol is more like The Last of Us meets Dead Space. If there is anything that's remotely close to The Order 1886, it's Stray. Both games are just super short tech demos that are garbage.

Ironically enough, as bad of a horror game it is, DS3 is still a very good action game. For starters, the dodge there actually requires timing.

DS3 had way more mechanics and combat options than this pile of crap.

It doesn't bother me if you can play them while you walk like in the Fallout games, but in Callisto you have to sit there and listen to the whole thing while doing nothing to maybe get some story

You can play them while walking around, just close the menu with the inventory button instead of backing out

Audiologs are basically small scale in-game podcasts; you leave them on in the background while you do other things, like playing the actual game

@@luminosity01 literally EVERYONE who played the game knows that. It's a pretty easy way to see who is a hater just being a sheep, parroting people and who actually played the game. Honestly, Callisto is up there for me. It had a pretty weak ending but 9 hours out of the 9 hours and 40 minutes of my playthough were pure enjoyment. I'd say it's up there with the evil within 1 and the evil within 2. It's no resident evil 2 remake but it sure as hell ain't re3 remake. It's like Re8. Nah, i enjoyed Callisto so much more than Re8 and i played them back to back, Re8 first. It's also 30% longer. Took me 9 hours and 40 minutes to finish Callisto, took me around 6-7 hours to finish Re8. And my god, i wasted SO MUCH TIME wasting ti..i mean "exploring" in Re8. The stupid treasures and secret weapons upgrades and the fkn meat of chickens and fish... 😩. That's a thing Callisto really lacked: a progression system between playthroughs, with cool unlocks, like the assault rifle, laser sword, Chris's pistol and other weapons that you get with points by doing challenges. I really REALLY hope they add extra shit like that in Callisto with the season pass dlc. That would REALLY up the value and make the game from a one off 7.5/10 to a strong 8.5/10 to replay for me.. New game+ would already be a massive plus. For starters, i could get my bugged maximum security difficulty trophy that bugged and i ain't playing the whole game from scratch with unskippable cutscenes. A mercena mode is a must. All resident evil games must have a mercenaries mode. The extra guns to unlock is awesome too. From what I've read, it looks like Callisto will also have some system where you can unlock new guns by doing some kind of survival mercenaries mode. Can't wait. The weird harder mode with less ammo and 1 life is not a good idea though. The game plays like dead space where you shoot everyone on sight and many stupid people didn't get that and played most of the game fighting melee, finding it boring or frustrating because of that..forcing the melee even harder in a harder game mode, isn't ideal right now for the public perception if the game

it's honestly incredible how in theory it's so easy, and fun, to do something interesting with zombies simply by adding and removing limbs from them and dsigning the whole combat around it, and dead space is like the only duology that tried it

That’s a good point! The problem is most of us forgot The Surge existed.

But that would mean they would have to have a practical combat system. What gets me is the tutorial prompt for how to fight pops up after you fight your first enemy... wtf even. So many people lost again and again to that "not a zombie" because the game wanted the tutorial to be cinematic. Then they give you a textbox afterward, telling you how to fight, which ruins the cinematic experience.

Yeah. And though co-op wasn't necessary I'd argue it was actually a welcome change, it's a cool mode and the two player hallucinations work really well.

For what i remember the developers original idea was also to have coop...however it was suppose to be the second player be "Shadow isaac" instead of carver Might not be true what i am saying thought, long time since i saw that info so if it's wrong feel free to correct me.

It's the focus for the first 2 chapters because it's a unique system and those chapters are the tutorial basically. After that, you should be shooting freely at anything. It's not a survival horror game. You don't have to save up ammo. It's like dead space: just shoot eveeyone...except you actually have a good melee system if they get too close. The random drops give you plenty of ammo and if you have enough, it gives you other generic stuff you don't have like credits and health. Also, it's made fuking obvious at the start as your inventory is super small and it encourages you to use everything you find instead of hoarding. I played at the start like that and i had to sell a bunch of ammo and medkits. Like A LOT. Then it clicks and it's so fun. If you are stupid, it's gonna become repetitive as you don't shoot and just rely on melee. That's like playing the last of us with only stealth, never using the melee system or shooting enemies. They shouldnt trust the players. That's obvious. The subconscious nudging by giving plenty of ammo, many rooms with multiple enemies, tons of traps isn't enough for many people. You are supposed to play the game by shooting enemies, using the globe to pick them up and throw them around, incorporate the melee and just have fun as it's all so seamless and animated so fkn AMAZING. But no. Idiots will just stay still and wait for an attack and play like that the whole game. Actual real facepalm moment.

It's funny because Callisto is not a survival horror game. Just like dead space is not a survival horror game. So... Is dead space shit now? Is resident evil 7 and 8 shit too? Cuz all you do is shoot monsters. It's not a Survival horror game, it's a shooter. Right? I'm just tired of the bullshit and hypocritical "criticism". Callisto is literally dead space but with a good melee system and guns feel better. Did you play it? Because you have to shoot a lot. The game gives you plenty of ammo. In fact, the random drops are based on your inventory and if you have enough ammo, it stops giving you ammo in favor of medkits and health. Just fkn play the game like it's dead space and shoot everyone. If they get too close, beat them up with the pretty good melee system. Voilá, it's a better game than dead space 1. Now that all the systems are in place, they can focus on expanding everything and Callisto protocol will be like dead space 2, a much better game than the original. It's like you people seriously think dead space 1 was an amazing game with no flaws. It was not. It had lots of problems and it was 7.5/10 just like Callisto protocol.
