On average, 1 in 4 Australians will experience mental health problems before the age of 25 and, in these moments, many young people turn to services like Headspace for support.
For many, these are life-saving avenues. For others, it can just be someone to talk to.
But now, a new report published in the Medical Journal Of Australia and co-authored by Drum panelist Ian Hickie has revealed that, for 12 to 25-year-olds with complex mental health problems, early interventions like Headspace aren't always resulting in meaningful improvement.
