A short video created from footage we took in the summer of 2012. Update: Special thanks to @AirmanMagazine for illegally downloading my video, stealing some of my footage, and putting it into their own video with no credit to me.
PEDRO/PJ's were the only ones willing to come in under fire to take my Platoon Sergeant and Medic who were both killed by IED's. I am forever grateful for that.
@Petr Říha Piece of garbage, Primary Original Gorilla, Panzy Old German, etc. Its a matter of perspective when you think about. Like my name. People call me a racist for it. But do they even consider that it might be my actual name? No? I mean, It's not. And I actually hate the chinese government, but still. I have *feelings.* I'm not a piece of meat that people can just laugh at. Like seriously, where the hell am I going with this comment? And why did you waste your time reading it? Gotcha bitch.
I've been in the army now for 7 years and have been deployed to Afghanistan twice, I can tell you one thing... pedro has saved many many lives and hearing that bird above is one hell of a relief. Respect to you guys, and I'll continue the fight til I have no fight left.
When you're on the ground in somebody else's backyard, too busted up to run. Well, I wonder if I can reach my pistol? Then your radio squawks. SAR inbound. Maybe I'm NOT gonna die today...God bless the PJs.
I was there with you guys in 2012 Bco 1-38. I was east of Kandahar about 25 miless in sperwan ghar. Our 3rd plt took some casualties from an IED I watched from about a mile away as you guys made multiple attempts to medivac our guys out you had to make several attempts to land due to RPK amd RPG fire. Your PJs jumped out with our guys on the ground to give aid while the pilots continued to make attempts to land. Well done.
As I understand it, the British military doesn't have a unit like the PJs right? Except for RAF Mountain Rescue Service (MRS), which is predominantly meant for mountain and ice rescue.
@@dallasyap3064 We have MERT, which is slightly different. MERT is a team of doctors, nurses and paramedics who do a similar job using a chinook. They are not SOF troops like PJs are though and would rarely discharge a weapon, a job usually carried out by an RAF gunner from the door. Whilst they lack in military skill, they gain in medical skills. That chinook essentially becomes a flying hospital and saved many British and US serviceman in afghan. Handshakes across the pond, Brother!
@@5eyesalliance785 ahh yes, I read about the MERT before, which is slightly different from PJs. From how I see it, MERT is more of a regular MEDEVAC unit, whereas PJs are more of a CSAR, recovery unit. What do u think?
Elite troops in their own right. Remember reading the Kajaki Dam story when members of the Parachute Regiment were trapped in a minefield. The PJs dropped in and the PARAs were screaming at them "Minefield!" and the PJ walked across the minefield with no care in the world, his focus was on the wounded.
PJs are capable in extracting personnel trapped in a minefield. They have also rescued before an Australian SASR member who was wounded and trapped in a minefield.
Fantastic job boys n' girls. I say this as an ex crew chief on a Royal Navy Air Squadron who has served on a few tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Big up to the engineers who work tirelessly to keep these assets in the air, they are often the unsung, never-mentioned heroes.
We're not legends Brother just making Sure Our Men had the best Medical treatment Available. Why do You Think We Train Them So Freaking Hard? Any PJ would gladly give up his or her own life too save You. That is why when I come upon You, I am screaming at you Trooper Look at Me!
My papa was a pj and got deployed right after 9/11. He has gone to multiple warzones and has saved a lot of lives. This video is awesome and i love pjs. My papa loved it and if he could go back he would. Hes a bad ass like all of these special operations operators.
May The Lord bless you all...the crews, the medics, soldiers...whenever, wherever you are...you save lives...you are the guarantors of the liberty of people in the free world. Greetings from Brazil.
Chris....excellent video. 30 year Jolly/Pedro pilot...miss the people and the mission. It's great to watch the video and remember the service buds, missions and excitement.
crazy to work on these birds as an aircraft mechanic. I think once that blood littered the bottom of the floorboards. Then I knew someone had a bad day at work. Thank you for your service
I'm an irish person myself and to see the all these people with these stories of deployment makes me think that I'm very lucky my country isn't in that situation. I respect the hell out of the men and women who serve in the armed forces. I also once wanted to be a PJ but that's not possible in my case. I tell you one thing tho, yall have some serious set of balls on ya
Aye, as an Irishman myself, the Americans are an entirely different animal when it comes to SF. Our Rangers are good, but underfunded. As you said, seeing these Rangers and PARAs speaking so highly of the PJs shows how good they are. Absolute fucking heros
You can be a pj just get your citizenship there used be this deputy in Houston who I knew quite well who was from dublin he worked for the sheriffs office
@@raymondweaver8526 I knew a few and respect that but at the same time it onky helps to stop the medic getting zapped, as for the patient I always found it was much more effective to keep the enemies heads down for a rapid extraction. Thats why the first principle of TCCC is to secure the area, then and only then do you get the patient to cover, stabilise and extract
My dad was a pedro in 'nam. They were flying in the kaman HH-43 whistlin' shithouses back then. I have one of his in-country pedro patches that was made by a local seamstress. He can tell some stories when the mood strikes him. Of course I'm always ready to listen when it does. So proud of him and everyone else that does this job. Thank you all!
My favourite song with one of my favourites military unit - the best connection ever! Greetings from Poland guys, you are doing a great job! That others may live!
How you dislike a video dedicated to the men and women that not only serve our country, but save the lives of their brothers and sisters in arms is beyond me........ #thankyouforyourservice
Thank you for sharing your video with all of us and a big THANK YOU to you sir and all of the men and women who put there life's on the line every day to keep us safe and for defending our constitution you are real life HERO'S GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN JESUS'S NAME WHO WE SPEAK THROUGH AMEN !!!!
Forever grateful for these guys. My truck was hit by an IED killing 2 guys and wounding me and 1 other. I lost my right leg above the knee. However, because of those guys in the helicopter that day, I lost my leg, not my life. Love ya'll and eternally grateful
Always come back to this video to just appreciate these guys are out here. Got lots of friends out there in the armed forces. I hope none of them need your services but if they do I’m glad they can count on you.
Congratulations you are wonderful warriors, patriots fight for your ideals. I am Brazilian and I admire how they fight and defend their country and their companions.
Amazing video. So much respect and admiration for you. I had the privilege of writing Justin's wife which she responded. You all are men among men. Stay safe and thank you.
I knew a army Veteran who was in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner , got shot down twice , waiting for a pickup while snipers were taking pot shots at them ! He had some unbelievable stories ! Desert Storm Navy Veteran . 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
