Racer X Garage Episode 163: No more procrastinating, its time to install the Calvert Racing Split Mono Leafsprings, and Belltech Lowering Hangers on my 1992 Dodge Dakota, before we install the Ford Explorer 8.8 rearend. The results were much lower than I had expected, we'll see what we can get away with, or if any modifications need to be made.

I have the identical setup, originally had the 1 inch drop spring, but went back to even. I ended up actually moving the installation location of the hangers to get the desired ride height as it sat too low relative to the front. Great work, truck is going to Rock! I have motor and trans out of my ‘91 for upgrades!

Thanks! I think I may do just a longer shackle to lift it up an inch for now. I am planning on doing the airbagit lowering spindles in the front with some coil overs. I'm hoping that will get the front down to where I need it, but this is a lot lower than I had expected.

I always read with any Gen Dakota, anything over 4" drop you might as well C Notch it. I have the Belltech 3" lowering leaf, with Gabirel Ultra White shocks, stock rear bump stops. With the weight of a Hard tonneau cover (200lbs) and tools in the bed and a 255/50 17 It measured to be like 3-3/8" lower from before install measure. I've only made it hit the bump hard enough to be really noticeable when I was actually aiming for something to test it. Otherwise, I have about maybe 2.5" between the axle and the bump on a 9.25" rear

Gramps looks good. 4 inches alot despite what she says..lol seriously I think it will need a c notch if you leave it but I'd mock everything up and see how it looks that low and what tire clearance looks like.
