This is so inaccurate. Taylor didn’t want anyone to know that she wrote the lyrics to the song, that’s why she used her alias on the songwriting credits when it was first released - she CHOSE to be credited under a Swedish man’s name. He was asked in an interview (Ryan Secrest) if he would ever work with her, he said no, even though they had already written and released the song. This was an attempt to protect her wishes - she didn’t want anyone to know she wrote it! After that interview, she got offended and released the news that she was the writer. He then went on to confirm that she was the writer AND that her vocals were also included in the song, she sings the “Oo’s”. That’s not him stealing and claiming that he wrote the song himself. Never in any interview did he say he wrote the song by himself. If anything, that’s shady from Taylor… to not want the credit and then get offended when he said that he wouldn’t work with her. He was protecting her wishes and then she let her ego get in the way. I’m a fan of both Calvin and Taylor but Taylor was definitely in the wrong during that situation. She was clearly looking for an out from the relationship.
The song wasn’t given to Rihanna without her consent, that’s not how song placement works. If Taylor didn’t want the song placed/recorded by Rihanna, as the writer she could block this. She was well aware it was going to be cut by Rihanna and quite frankly she was happy about it. The fact that Calvin has so many artists that are willing to work with him over and over again, shows he’s not some douche that is difficult to work with. He’s got so many collaborators that he’s worked with consistently over the last ten years - Ellie being one of them. If he was so horrible I doubt any of these people would collaborate with him over and over again. /rant
