I absolutely agree! I hate it how people always want a song with sad or negative lyrics to also SOUND sad, dark and/or negative :( I love happy, bright and melodic sounding music, and I don't really care what the lyrics are about. E.g., I wish someone would find me a bright and melodic cover of "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones, because I hate Mick Jagger's non-melodic and grumpy style of singing in the original. I can't find such a cover anywhere though - everyone seems to try to imitate how Mick sang it, and no one ever allows the melodic potential of that song to... 'shine', so to say. And I don't care whether it's about anything "black" or not - it should still be aloud to shine!! I care about the music, but people (including artists) focus too much on lyrics, and ruin some great tunes.

it's because it's annoying to see/hear these studio edited (pitch corrected) recordings where people try to pass them off as live sessions. Where instead of just being about the music, they're trying to be cute and as marketable as possible so they can make money off of other peoples' work.

I hate cause you cant get the name from the fuking best song by velvet underground and put on this shit ass, when i try listen sweet nothig from they or black crowes, youtube only shows this peace of crap.

To be clear, the song has been performed extremely well. The singers are incredibly talented, however the issue I bear and many others also share is the song is a sad story, this cover is very upbeat both in tune, voice and beat. Yes music is meant for the ears, so listen. I feel the joy in their voices, there is an upbeat rhythm, everything here is beautiful and sunny... but the words are so conflicting. The cover is fine if you are just listening for 'nice' sounds but for someone who is taking the song into their soul, bringing it to life in their minds, the image painted is odd. I cant imagine pain and suffering whilst listening to 'what a wonderful world' (louis armstrong)... it just doesn't work. for this reason i can't purchase this cover despite how brilliant the singers are and how well they've put this together because its really weird. It would be sadistic to be able to combine the imagery produced by the song. I must point out that its well understood in tele sales, speaking with a smile, makes your words positive because of how it affects the voice. I listen to music, I'm here because I'm looking to expand my playlist for my painting sessions. The words and sounds don't add up..

exactly what I was thinking. The positivity is totally counter to the depressing words... the positivity in the voice and guitar play isn't right for the song. its a good performance, full of talent, but puts me off the song. Its like singing about the horrors of the holocaust whilst keeping the tune jolly.... really really weird.
