That's true. Personal pride and reputation among one's peers and family are also based heavily on one's theology, especially if one has held to it for a substantial length of time and become notable for holding to that theology.

Not sure if this question is meant to be subtly nefarious given your obvious disposition. That said if you found this conversation cognitively expansive that can be a good thing. The conversational orientations BTF is engaged in are meant for those who have strong and dynamic thinking capacity. Everything that comes out of the participants here is an attempt to break new ground for the individual and set a PR at the gym if you will. If this felt too extensive for you it’s probably an indication that you don’t have the strength or wisdom of ear to hear. Don’t be triggered by this, you are probably not engaging with nuances or novelties enough to expand or interact (like opponent processing) with your ideological convictions. Again not sure if you are intending to be funny on the sly but I will give you the benefit my kinder nature and provide this as a genuine response before acting on my intuition which warns me that you are full of ideological tyranmania and interpersonal impotence. It shows how modeling and pattern recognition can provide much needed mental clarity and horsepower to become attuned to complex environments and situations. The capacity for abstraction and fractal visualization is not for people at every stage of development or level of consciousness. To put that in simpler terms, you clearly cannot apply analogic layers. We are using analogy to aid in explanation of observed phenomenon. I.e. Calvinists and Provisionists do not realize the fake worlds they create (observed phenomenon) like a virtual video game (analogy). You have inverted that idea in your comment to indicate that "theological systems" are more real than the act of using game/play as an analogical tool for growth/maturing cognitive expansion and you could not be more wrong or suspicious in doing this. This is where the impotence comes in. You have clearly not developed the inner maturity and wisdom to see through your own superficial and subtly gainsaying comments, which are indeed subtle because of your cowardice to Speak the Truth. So, you lie (observed phenomenon) and subtly slither in the comment like a snake (analogy), or "Viper" as Jesus might say. The impotence of your faith in "theological systems" is what causes this ideological tyranamania and manifests a poor excuse for a Christian voice or representative. Both views miss scripture. Jason is likely a genuine Christian. This video is more about ANY propositionally normative ideologies not being reality. Jesus is THE WAY. Not a set of beliefs. We believe in being mode. We don’t HAVE beliefs in having mode.

@KevinThompson1611 Hmm, I'm not sure yet if I agree or disagree. It sounds like you BELIEVE Jesus is The Way. And He is. But doesn't it matter who we believe Jesus is and what He did for us? If I believe Jesus is a wise but imperfect human while also saying He's the Way and follow Him, does that not matter? Doesn't John 3:16 matter? But perhaps you're not saying beliefs don't matter or that relativism is true. I would agree that if all I do is hold to a set of propositional facts without trusting in the person behind those truths, it is not Christianity. And after we trust, the natural response to that should be to continue to learn of Jesus and follow Him.
