+Tsisageya 1 yea but he's really not!! me and his kids are best friends. and I take lessons from him right now. my moms boyfriend lives right next to him and he's the nicest man I've ever met
I used to be in a band With Anders ( the guy on the Rights).... I miss Playing With him, it doesnt show in this video, budt that man is a gifted guitarist whose equal i have yet to see
+Tsisageya 1 On stolen ground eh? You may clean up your thinking with a little actual knowledge instead of hatred. Private Property is a concept that was born with The US Constitution. Before then, whenever two men or two groups of men came face to face in a wilderness they both wanted, the weaker went under. The process of invasion and usurpation I the history of ALL men, not just the white man, silly. I know its difficult, but try a little not to apply today's morality to men who lived before it was conceived. In addition, the American Indians are the first "conquered" peoples in the history of the world who were not exterminated, enslaved, or eradicated. They are allowed to this day to continue their own traditions and laws on their own protected lands.
I'm a song writer in Nashville and it is so rare to hear anything new that grabs you. I hear ideas constantly and I'm numb to most music now. This song brought tears to my eyes. It has a feeling that is missing from most music now.
agreed...I'm a (musically "jaded") 58 years old...my youngest daughter said, "dad, you gotta hear this song; I think you might like!"...yes, sweetheart, you were right; love this song...causes the tears every time.....I am writing songs too, and can wish I could write/compose something as powerful as this,,,,,
OMG!!! How was she not recognized sooner.....what an amazing and passionate voice she has....truly gorgeous and as Bobby Bones said, it gives me chills every time I hear it. She is a super star and I can't wait for her to be famous, as she deserves it!!! Gorgeous in every way!
First time in a long I've heard heard a new song on a country station and considered it country and not pop, breath of fresh air. country radio needs more country music like this. Reminded me of hearing Dixie chicks and faith hill in the good ole days when country radio played country music
hunterDTOM When I first heard this I thought it might actually be the Dixie Chicks, her voice has that same haunting quality as Natalie Maines. Heard it on the radio just today and ran to google it as soon as I got home. Hope to hear more from her for sure
I just never get tired of listening to any and all versions of Cam performing "BURNING HOUSE "...SOOOOO AMAZING...LOVE THE ACOUSTIC VERSION MOST OF ALL !!!!!
I have never had a song so abruptly devastate me emotionally. I'm sitting here sobbing, tears streaming down both cheeks, and I can't explain why. Thank you for this song.
Im not a country music lover but this song , i cant stop listening to it . Its so amazing to listen to and u just want to hum and sing along . Her voice is so wonderful. Hopefully she writes more great songs like this one .
I just saw her perform in the Boston Commons this evening while waiting for Kacey Musgraves to appear, and I just had to look her up here. She was great, and adorbs. I was impressed with her warmth, her connection with the audience, and that voice. She's a real talent who deserves to make it big. Now I can't stop listening to this either. Thank you for coming to Boston, Cam!
I had to pull over & stop when I heard this in my car today! It's the best I've heard in a while!! I love her voice, style & the way they play together!
Have you ever heard a song that stopped you in your tracks? Where you had to stop doing whatever you were doing and just listen, and be taken over by the song. For many years Jamey Johnson's In Color was one of the few that did that for me..until I heard this. Absolutely captivating song because it was written from the heart, I wish more music was like this.
No joke, I have probably listened to this song 30 times since I first heard it last Friday. This is truly an incredible song. Coming from someone who absolutely loves country music, but absolutely hates what it has been become. It's amazing to hear a song like this that reminds me that country music might not actually be dead. Beautiful song, keep up the good work, and please don't sell out like other singers have (Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw...etc...)
I love the way she just stands and sings. There's none of this diva hand gesturing or constantly grasping the mic or her hair. Just so lovely. Such a beautiful song and voice
I am sure this song is about a lost lover, but, my father died in a fire in 2010 and this resonates so well with that, "I've been sleepwalking Been wandering all night Trying to take what's lost and broken Make it right I've been sleepwalking Too close to the fire But it's the only place that I can hold you tight In this burning house" I frequently have dreams about that night, and I am so glad that somebody else was able to put the feelings I have about it into amazing words. Thank you, Cam..
KelsiMelsiChlovechok I am so sorry to hear that. It is such a comfort to have music that speaks the pain of our hearts. May your heart heal at least a little bit every time you hear this. Even though it's sad...hopefully it helps...
I seen her at the Nebraska state fair this August I never heard her before and now I can't get enough of her she is beautiful and has an amazing voice keep up the awesome work Cam
Your song gets me at the core...Their are no words to express what I'm feeling, until I hear your lyrics in a melody that says it all..."Time heals, they say". Thank you, amazing!
Sometimes a song just reaches out and grabs you. It's the amazing voice, the harmony, the intricate guitar work and the lyrics that draw you in and won't let go. This is one of those songs. Pure magic!
I'm in my 50's, w/1000's of songs in my Itunes folder, w/rock/pop/blues/CW, bit of everything ('cept hip-rap)... out of them all, very few bring on the tears as this song does (I'm saying a lot)...thank you, Cam, for giving us this beautifuly sad song
I soooooo love this sweet, albeit sad, song. This particular video is spectacular as it magnifies the tenderness of the song in its simplicity. Love the two men playing guitar on either side of her and gently bringing in their voices with her as appropriate. She seems sweet, tender and vulnerable in the middle as she sings gently into the microphone. Such a beautiful song and I love this video!
I heard this one morning on the Bobby Bones show and fell in love with it. Bobby Bones you were so right. This will make it to #1 on the charts. Its a song that you can never forget.
Cam sings like she is floating in air. Such a simple arrangement that moves the soul. Absolutely beautiful. It is hard not to smile when you hear her sing. Heard her on Bobby Jones for the first time.
I was listening to my car radio & heard this guitar intro & loved it. Nice to hear something simple instead of loud music on amplifiers & banging drums. I waited as the intro was longer than I expected. Then I heard this beautiful voice. Clear country vocal with some harmony & lyrics that made you stop & think about. Grabbed a pen & napkin & wrote down title but barely caught the singers name but knew I had to find out more & I did. Looking forward to hearing more of her on the radio
Sometimes it's that "first version" that gets ya....my youngest daughter turned me on to this...wasn't sure at first (she likes more "new stuff" than I...) but her instincts were right on on this...great song, and yes, this version is my fave....
This song has helped me so much mentally. Going through a really hard time and I feel like I can relate to this better than any song right now. Thank you Cam
you have a voice like an angel, the soothing notes that you can sing, even for a sad song, I cant hear enough of it. thank you for you're beautiful song. thank you so much.
Such an amazing song, so different and that's what we need. So amazing can't even put words to how amazing "Cam and Burning House" is. Keep up the amazing work.
Exactly the same here. Heard it on the radio somewhere, and was stunned by how beautiful her voice was, so I made sure to keep a note of the lyrics so I could look it up later.
first time I heard this song I couldn't breathe I was crying so much. this is one of my favorite songs atm. thank you so much cam for this gorgeous song.
Dolly Parton! NEED more authentic voices like this in country music. We need more Bo, Brooks, Chesnutt, Rogers and many more. country just isn't the same w/o the voice to make each story pop. New country is just like pop music. Then you have great raw talent like Cam to restore faith in it!
Does anyone out there relate? Everytime I listen to this song (EVERY time) I cry, I hurt, and cut my broken heart open, just one more time....yet, I watch/listen again and again,,,strange medicine, this music...."Sad songs say so much" (maybe too much?)
Music is the medicine to heal our souls. I relate to this so much, with friends and family dyin and thinking I could have helped them and dreaming dreams of it. I love writing and playing much. It keeps me a little sane.
+Mason Marek just yesterday, had a "celebration of life" for Chelsey, a 23 year-old waitress at a pub/rest. where i host an "open mic", who took her own life 8 days ago... "wished I could have helped her", like you said...just 23! I'm hurtin' bad for her (got two daughters of my own, around that age) I would always be nervous when I got there, and Chelsey would have a ginger-ale ready for me (I don't drink) gonna miss her....gonna be hard to go back to that mic.....
I right there with you it is a great song because anyone can almost believe it was written about them.. It reminds me of the mistakes I made the things I can never get back and breaks my heart..
Love it. Its nice to hear a wonderful voice along with two acoustic guitars. The rocknroll and hip hop have their place, but country isn't it. Fantastic!
i love this song ever since i first heard it on the radio the guitar is so difficult to learn but so amazing when you do learn it the lyrics are beautiful and the way she sings it brings me to almost tears
