Cam Whitmore, one of the most talked about player's in the 2023 NBA Draft, is also one of the most misunderstood. His quiet, focused demeanor on the court is an expression of his passion for the game and a locked in focus on winning with his teammates. It's not surprising when you meet him and his parents to learn that this young man overcame a series of nearly career ending leg injuries as a 15 year old boy, only to become one of the top players in the country.
Cam developed his interest and appreciation for tattoos through his father, a 26+ year military veteran who was so confident in his son's potential that he tattooed "Cameron Destined for Greatness" on his own arm when Cam was just in elementary school.
Cam's first tattoo was a large tiger, symbolizing the trials and tribulations he's overcome. But the most important may be "Godspeed," the words his mother uttered on the day of his first injury -- and which gave him strength through his recovery and beyond.
