T Esp I just fixed the same problem last night on a 2013 camaro. Try pull the controls off again behind it you should have an 18pin connector. If you pull the front of it off it should unclip. Take it off and with a pin release the little clip holding the number 18pin in. It should be a white wire. Just remove it from the clip and tape it up so it doesnt contact anything. Put the front of the connector back on and plug it back in. It should work you may have to unplug the stereo itself to reset it. The unit I worked on seemed to work fine when the face was unhooked. I havent noticed any problems with unhooking that white 18 pin wire. The diagrams show that it runs to the stereo and is one of 4 or 5 turn on wires.
I have a 2013 camaro base model and i have that exact same problem. My radio wont turn on at all and the air will turn on and off with the lights flashing. If you were able to fix it please let me know how.
This is the same problem i've been having. It started a month or so ago and it's progressively gotten worse. I took it to the dealership today and they told me it's the radio. They quoted me $400+ for a new radio and $400+ installation. I passed and thought I'd be able to get a better deal on a replacement radio (maybe even an upgrade from the factory one that they say is the culprit of my problems) but Best Buy quoted me almost $900 for a new radio ($200), installation, and a kit i need for the steering wheel controls to work ($400) -- WTH!?!? I've done a bit more research online and am finding that several people have been told different things. Greg (previous post) says its the HVAC Controller...I'm being told it's the radio (this is based on the mechanic's previous experience -- he said he replaced a radio and it fixed this problem -- but $800+ -- that's ridiculous). others are still trying to figure out what the problem is. My camaro is out of warranty -- and I was charged a little under $70 to have them tell me it's my radio -- but i'm not confident that's the fix for this problem.
Edgar Montoya I just had my entire thing fixed as to it was broken when I got the car used. got everything fixed by Chevy a week ago ( for free) and it just went out again today as I was warming the car up. came back and it's gone. nothing no sound no lights nothhing. no signal light sound nothing. ac and heat still work though. called dealer bk to let them know went out again.
Edgar Montoya I know I'm late but a new radio and face plate takes 10 mins to take out. I did mine in less than five. It's a basic unbolt, unplug and swap

Before you take your car to the dealership. It is the radio that is the problem, I had the dealership install a new BCM, which I purchased, and the problem continued. I took the control panel off, disconnected the climate control plug on back and the radio still cut out, I reconnected the climate control, disconnected the radio and the A/C worked just fine. When I reconnected the radio the problem came back. So I am buying a used radio pretty inexpensive on Ebay and hopefully that will fix the problem.
any update on this? mine cuts off and on as well but also shuts off the ac. battery was tested and said it could be it... but that was just a maybe. 220 for a new battery for just a maybe?? no thanks.
Supposedly, there's an easy fix for this by cutting a white wire connected to the 18th pin on the plug where the display is connected. Has anyone got this to work? I tried but my white wire is in a different spot. I'm afraid to cut it. I have a 2011 1LT V6.
I have the Same Problem took it back to the dealership is a HVAC Controller they found out its a bad Part and they are starting production on a new part should be getting mine in sometime next week
I'm having the same problem.. but as the display dims, the air conditioner stops working also... but after the car has been on for a few min, it starts working again.
Scooter Wooten It's an issue with the body control module of this model year. The connectors that deal with the radio unit over time get overheated and stop relaying the electronic signals. You have to take it to the dealer.
You need a new radio LCD display unit, I had a similar problem and after the dealer replaced it things worked fine. You should check out camaro5.com if you have not already done so.
Chrisell did they replace just the unit or the unit and the faceplate?? I took mine to the dealership and they charged $548 for everything. But they kept the old display and changed the unit behind the display but my cold air isn't blowing...

Ricky Rodriguez When you pull the face off the plug in the back will be numbered with tiny numbers top row will be 1-9 and bottom is 10-18 Its wire number 18 so it would be the very last one. If you want to email me I can forward you a wiring diagram I have for that unit. Audio@acidicinstalls.com
Ricky Rodriguez or if you are located in central Florida my shop is in sarasota if your local I would be happy to help you out with it if not just email me and ill be happy to help you out and walk you thru it
andee53 I don't have another camaro to make a video of it at the moment. I can try and take one when the owner comes back this week for to pick up a limo project we have been working on for him. I can try and see if he will let me use the car to make a video
