At new year, Millennium, they had to have AK47 guards at the entrance to a hippie party with max, 100 forerngeirs at that time all of the foreigners of whole of Sihanoukville.. Cambodia that time was Mystical, not really safe, guns around everywhere, Cannabis sold everywhere, and strange people, was all the Expats living there. I never met another Swede in Cambodia for 1,5 month there, and even in Bangkok people warned us to go hahaha... Those where the times, OFF THE BEATEN TRACK Truly those times. Never again Sihanoukville ever, so sad to see this. Again dont get me wrong I be happy to see the local population get it even with this muich better standard etc. then in 1999, BUT the most dont get any peaice of the cake!!!! It's neo Capitalism corruption at its best. Strongest Memory Sianoukville 1999-2000. And shouldn't it be the responsibility of Cambodian gov to set investment guidelines? it was definitely the gov choice allow resort to be build!
