Holy sh!t you’re a dead ringer for my ex-girlfriend 🤣🤣. Obviously this video was shot pre-pandemic. We’re going in July. I’m hoping this place is everything I’ve heard it to be.
You missed one of the most unique galleries in California located on Moonstone Beach Drive. MoonstoneRedwood.com at 6100 Moonstone beach dr. Works of art created from Burnt, rotten and bug carved redwood. Almost all the art in and outside of the gallery is created from one redwood tree.
I love Cambria, the Central Coast and the Vineyards. I was there for 3 days in June. The only thing I missed was Hearst Castle because it was still closed during Covid. My nephew even wrote a song about Cambria and our band released the song earlier in October.
I would rather live in a empty place than a place that is so crowded even the post office parking spots are empty because they want to park there to walk to other places that are not the post office we have to circle the post office like 5 times to find a parking spot at least semi close most of the time we just leave.
great idea to compile all these different activities into one long video! and wow, this was like rewatching my vacation from March! we stayed in Morro Bay and rented kayaks there one afternoon. Another day we did Hearst Castle, elephant seal beach, Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, Hearst State Beach including lunch at Sebastians. Talk about a multi-purpose building... store, restaurant, post office and wine tasting room all in one! then on our way home we enjoyed dinner and a sunset at Moonstone Beach! this was my second time visiting Hearst Castle and I think the option of wandering around after your tour was something new since my first visit 4 years ago. We had the last tour of the day and had some wonderful late day light for photos. We only stopped at one winery along the coast that same day - Harmony Cellars, about 1/2 way between Cayucos and Cambria. Gotta love the sign on HWY 1 for Harmony - Pop. 18 ! another highlight around this area for us was after spending a day of touring wineries in Paso Robles we took HWY 46 across the mountains to the coast to get back to Morro Bay. When you reach the highest point on the mountains suddenly the view of the ocean appears and there is a great viewing area up there that lets you see everything from Cambria to Morro Bay! I'm going to pass this video along to my fellow travellers to help them remember all these places we visited!
Sounds like you had a great time! We didn't get to check out harmony cellars during our visit. Maybe next time! The touring of the grounds at Hearst castle was new for us too. But the tour was much shorter. I preferred the tour from a few years ago! Seems like you would have to pay for three tours now to see the one tour we did back in 2007.
California Travel Tips I agree about the Hearst Castle tour being better in the past... although the shorter tour worked out fine for us this time because my sister had her 2.5 year old daughter along and she was getting restless and cranky. we did have a great trip... and this area was just for the first week. we moved on to Santa Barbara for the 2nd week.
Probably my favourite place in all the world ..spent a perfect night on the beach drinking wine and watching the ships on the horizon whilst talking to my perfect woman ..wonderful place
I recommend a tour of the Imperial Valley (at the southern tip of California, just below Salton Sea). It is definitely the weirdest part of Southern California and rivals the Modoc as most other-worldly region in the state. Great visuals.
California Travel Tips interesting; locals in your video pronounced it as 'came-bree-ah' and after visiting dozens of times that is my understanding. Also interesting that Boise, Idaho and the country of Belize have various specific pronunciations by the actual locals. Obviously as a visitor you want to get it correct, but not an easy task.
TheFutureWayPortal Yes, it is interesting and not always easy! Here is another video that helped me decide how to pronounce it. How do you pronounce Cambria? Really?
California Travel Tips Thanks. Another interesting pronunciation that TV's Johnny Carson's residence, he would quip about was Point Dume - noting that some called it 'Du-may' - perhaps a new opportunity for Google to store audio pronunciation of popular locations.
