I bought one a month ago. It's astounding. Listening to Tidal MQA Masters is the best sound my 56 year old ears have ever heard. CA could have charged $1,000+ for this. I won't be surprised if the DacMagic 200M wins some awards.
I don't believe this is Roon ready. I have a Mac Mini hooked up to mine running my Roon Core with Tidal and a couple of SSD drives with all my digital music. There is no way to host a Roon Core on the 200M nor does it have wi-fi or network connection. The Cambridge Audio site states it is Roon Tested (indicating the product has been tested to work with the [USB] device.) Nevertheless it is an astounding device and sounds brilliant playing through my Denon 800 series amp and Polk speakers.
Alvast bedankt. Met vriendelijke groeten Wekke
Hi, if you were already enjoying the CA DM200/m (I own one) try replacing the power plug for a low-noise lineair power supply and let it burn in for at least a week. The sound gets much better. You left the DSD functionality out of your review, but try it with DSD, feed it with an audiophile USB cable. I find it in DSD 64 that the DM200 is coming alive. You will be blown away I suppose, as I find that the DM is really good in PCM CD quality and decent in other PCM, but not excellent. Just really good. MQA has no value to me over PCM 24/192. Note: the unit is very sensitive to outside noise, get it away from noisy cables and other gear.
