What a shame that, if this is indeed the case, they appear to be incapable of understanding the difference between "Boxing" and "fighting."

No, it's not "needless pedantry" - it's the exact opposite, in fact. The whole future of Amateur Boxing, the very survival of the sport, depends upon "Boxing" being seen and understood to be an activity completely distinct from, and different to, "fighting." If you are incapable of understanding the difference then you should not be at University.

What a pity that they all seem incapable of understanding the difference between "boxing" - an exciting sport - and "fighting! - a degrading spectacle. If they enjoy "fighting" so much, then why don't they make an effort to get it included (as a voluntary, extra-curricular activity) at some of the best Secondary Schools in Cambridge, such as Perse School and Leys School?
