The Cambridge Concord is one of my all-time favorite Bibles. It's one of those Bible that I keep going back to. It's available in three sizes: regular with 9 point font, personal size with 6.5 font, and wide margin with 8 point font. In this review, I compare 6 different editions.

At the 30:47 mark I mentioned PrismaColor pencils. I called them Prisma Micron, but they're actually PrismaColor.

My first wide margin bible was a Cambridge KJV Wide Margin in French Morocco. Regretfully I sold it about 6 years ago. But I have now ordered a new one in the goatskin. Cambridge makes exquisite bibles!

I have Cambridge in split calf..the CONCORD.. It is perfect. My goldilocks bible. But as my eyes grow older I like a bigger font as in the TURQUOISE. Or 11.5 POINT font in the preaching bible from Nelson.

CONCORD. I got my first in about 1969 and still have IT. And a new one. Plus many other Cambridge bibles.

I am happy that Cambridge never decided to go to China to make their Bibles . I really like their Bibles and have most all of them except the very small ones and also like the fact that I understand that the text from the King James version which they use is the most reliable of all the King James version text. so I am partial to them and to that translation but also like the new King James The New American Standard Bible 95 and also the English Standard Version ESV when I can get it in a good size print and book like I did recently on the ESV about 8 and 1/2 by 5 and 1/2 by 1 and 1/2 width. 12 POINT FONT

The Cambridge Concord KJV Reference Goatskin Red-Letter Bible is my primary reading Bible. I also have one the Marbled Mahogany Calfskin--a beautiful full-yapp Bible. Love it!

A 9 point font in the regular Cambridge is legible but when you get into the wide margins and other things and eight point is also READ able. Using Cambridge dark and bold FONT. And surrounded by classic thick white it IS just beautiful to look at. I am trying to honour Cambridge for giving me over 50 years of good reading from my FIRST CONCORD..

CAMBRIDGE CONCORD was my first serious bible around 1969. Have not found one better since then.

I have a TBS Classic Reference Bible, which is substantially the same as the Personal Concord. I've had it for a few years and have used it a lot, but it still won't lay flat. I don't think they ever break in, I've got Bibles that are much newer and are fully broken in after less use. Still a perfect Bible for taking to church for me. I love that Cambridge used the same text block for all these editions - I plan to buy a wide margin soon to supplement my personal sized, and maybe a normal Concord at some point in the future.

I do like the Cambridge layout . I also wish they would make a New American Standard Bible in the two-column setting of The Quentel with references at the bottom. it seems like the refs and notes would be legible in the Cambridge Bold font and it would be an excellent Bible.. they do have the NASB in a Clarion collection.

I've got compact Concord and absolutely love it. I will get the calfsplit once I wear out mine from use. The concord helped me dive deeper into the KJV

I do like that the New King James Version is an update of the King James version which was changed only in 1769.. officially the new King James version was changed in about 1984 .. the way it has been adjusted for modern reading in English is very excellent and I think their footnotes and references are as good as they get.

I agree. The NKJV's notes are excellent. It's a very good update for the KJV. I highly recommend the NKJV.

Great review - the handsized imitation Concord c$35 is an awesome Bible. It has all the same features as the standard Concord (but NOT the wm - that has different features because it has a mass of indexed writing paper but lacks the bible dictionary)

The Cambridge in leather and calf split lays much flatter at the beginning of the Bible than the expensive one you showed that just wouldn't lay flat with the edge lined problem in the goatskin.

Thank you for an honest review, the second to the last Bible is something I can be interested on, the font and ink is fine for my personal preference, I like the many blank notebooks it has to make my notes. Wondering what model is that and how much is it and where do I buy that. The paper seemed fine, though I prefer a thicker paper.

BOTH the CONCORD and CONCORD wide margin say 8/9 FONT. At beginning. I think it must be 9 POINT for CONCORD and 8 POINT for CONCORD wide margin.

I am enjoying your reviews, they’re very helpful. My first Bible was a Cambridge hand size. The. For my whole adult life I’ve been using and teaching out of a KJV Scofield. As you know when you use a Bible for that long you remember verses are on the page, column, and position in the column. So handy for counseling. Recently I we moved to NKJV for the Church. I spent a long time trying to find a Bible I am comfortable teaching out of. I still haven’t settled. I have a couple of questions for you. First, do you know if Pastors teach out of paragraph form Bibles? It seems to me it would be difficult and I don’t want to add a distraction if I’m pausing to find my verse. Second, I love the size of this concord, does Cambridge make a NKJV in a similar size?

Thank you! I do know of several Pastors that teach from paragraph editions. I've seen several of the big-names carry a Clarion. I've used a Clarion a lot myself and I know others that do too. The cross-references are sometimes next to the verses they go with, and that helps make them easier to find. I love the Concord too. Unfortunately, Cambridge doesn't have anything close to this in the NKJV.

If you combine quality And availability ..CAMBRIDGE is hard to beat. Especially with calfskin and calfsplit. Being cheaper and better in some cases.

Hi Joanne. Unfortunately, TBS no longer produces the Concord. It was replaced with the Westminster. It's possible they might have a few left. I recommend contacting them through this page to see: us.tbsbibles.org/general/?type=contact

I love the red letter in the wide margin I I like 8. Font. No other Cambridge has such a really wonderful dictionary and so long of a Concordance I love the wide margin Concorde dictionary it's fabulous with the red letters for Jesus it just beautiful

Since I don't write in my BIBLE ..getting a wide margin..whether in Cambridge or Nelson ..ensures you get good margins and gutter and lots of white which enhances PRINT.

Hello, Is there any difference in the Bible’s in the dark boxes vs the older ones in the white and blue boxes? You mentioned newer maps but any other differences that would make an older Cambridge a better Bible? I ask because I see both for sale online.

It was a bit unclear as to what the first bible was exactly. Which version of Cambridge Concord? You skipped that. Was it red latter or what? I need a very clear identification of what the first one was.

Only Holman personal SIZE large PRINT comes close to CONCORD in other VERSIONS. CSB NKJV KJV ESV by crossway in 12 point PERSONAL SIZE is great. Only NASB NOT in this format currently. BUT WILL BE IN SPRING. 2022. YOU CAN GET A NASB 2020 IN 13.5 FONT. BLACK LETTER VERY NICE.

Went for the thumb index and love it! I think im the only person who really doesn't like the art-gilt on bibles, much prefer gold or silver; I find the red/salmon distracting

The concord looks to have a great size font for reading also..i was debating the turquoise because i love that old type setting.. Are the type the same in the turquoise and concord? I really like to see the size of the concord over the turquoise

Between the R.L. Allan Longprimer and the Cambridge Concord what would you prefer for overall use?

That's a tough one. Both are amazing and have different types of tools. I love the topical index of the Longprimer and I use it more for study and sermon prep than I do the dictionary of the Concord. I carry the Concord more because I love its overall size. I also like its bold reference system that keeps the text cleaner, and that it has italics for supplied words. I might prefer the Concord, but that could change tomorrow :-)

@@elliotttaber1396 the spelling matches the 1769 more than the PCE as far as I can tell. I'm not sure about punctuation. The punctuation doesn't match the New Cambridge Paragraph Bible. I like it for study.

CONCORD is perfect SIZE AND print SIZE. In KJV PRINT from CAMBRIDGE.
