For everyone saying that Scrubs (or whatever TV show) is not a movie: yes you're right it isn't a movie, but, it's shot on the same type of cameras movies are shot on, and as far as I know TV shows use many if not all the same types of shots as films do.
This is a very good video and helped me out alot. But it seems to do a establishing shot you have to have a Jib or some other type exspensive equipment.
Thank you! I appreciate this very much. This video was made for a film class specifically and includes the most important and widely used shots in the cinema industry.
Hey Man....dis is a great job u hav done, rly appreciate it! :) i am a budding film director aswell and was thinking of some shots for my low budget movie, and came across this. rly helpful all d best in ur future mate tc
You could use a white board of some sort as a bounce board, reflecting whatever available light you have. This technique is far cheaper than buying a second light and if used correctly can give a very similar effect. Also you could just buy a cheap can light from home depot as your primary light source.
the guy narrating this sounds a lot like Doug. the cartoon from the 90s. i know it has nothing to do with this video at all but i can't get past his voice.
can someone help me with this there is a camera angle thats pretty uh unconventional and I was wondering can someone explain to me how to acheive it its in the bernard wright "who do you love" video. The rotation like shot of them rolling? around town.
I doubt a zoom shot is more common than a Wide Shot, MCU, BCU or a jib/crane shot. Also, 1:54 - Definitely not what I'd call a long-shot. It's way to far, high up and wide to be considered an LS. This list has most definitions correct but it's far from accurate. You could've also used better and more examples. I.e. The establishing shot you used was good but it might confuse people... it doesn't necessarily have to be moving, it can be a just a really wide shot of the setting.
@BillyTheAlienVideo if you wanna begin films, you have to work with the limited resources you have. I have friends that suck at acting too, but if you're specific on what you want and patient, you'll be surprised. So help the acting with your friends, rather than going for stuffed animals... which... don't act anyway. lol
