In late February 2024, it became apparent that Cameron Balser's US Perimeter run would land him in Santa Monica, CA, just in time to participate in The Speed Project for 2024. With one of the most coveted and challenging races in the world in his sights, Cam committed to the 280mi solo version of the race.
He had to face the fact that he had run 6,500 miles to get to the start line while others tapered. He knew he was up against some of the best runners in the world, including the course record holder. He had to process all of this while keeping in mind that he had 5,000 more miles to go after he finished.
