The handsome drum god has returned from his RU-vid slumber. ❤❤❤❤ 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love this song live, one of my favs to see. Joe was so good on this track too 😢 but you guys nailed it in Louisville. Excited for the new album bro, and your solo one too!!! 🎉
Fascinating watching your feet!! The adjustments, movements and how different they move from each other....and making it all seem effortless....🔥 my dude!!
Do you consider the way you play ‘open handed’? You don’t cross over hands often, it’s always been super cool to watch. I’d love to hear if it was just the way you learned to play, or if it was something that you learned to make BOO’s style more ergonomic to play. As a left handed person, I’ve always been super interested to set a kit up left handed after playing right handed for years, just to see how fills and cymbal flourish would feel
that's correct, it's called open handed playing! When I first learned the drums as a child, I never crossed over for my Hi-hat because nobody told me not to do that. This was I was able to develop the "open handed" playing style. I am right handed. CHeers my friend!
Question for you from a drummer struggling to pick up double bass after years of not playing. I get extremely sore after trying to pick up speed in on and off intervals, much like this song. Would you have any suggestions for foot placement, seat height, seating position or tension that may help alleviate this inconvenience to better help me focus on what I'm playing rather than the technique itself? I currently play with speed cobras at 80% tension only because the recoil I get from lower tensions feels really awkward to me when playing. Any help would be appreciated. You're one of my favorite drummers, can't wait to see you guys at mayhem this year.
